Really looking forward to seeing more of this one. Looks like a true successor to Xenoblade.

Anybody not excited for this game has no soul :<. Anyway, the mechs remind me of being right out of Xenogears or Xenosaga, so I believe it's a mix of blade and the other Xeno games finally having something to do with each other.

Dont forget giant WORLDS, if you guys arent familiar with xenoblade... There basically ARE NO barriers, nothing in those clips is a background, If you can see it, you can go there, no loading screen. Now more than ever, since you have a flying transforming robot.

Imagine this world being like 10x times the size of xenoblade's. Alread has game of the decade potential.

I cant play skyrim anymore. X has ruined skyrim.

Everytime im riding around on my derpy little horse, i see this crazy giant hover motor cycle fly by, turn into a mech, decapitate the dragon, and then fly off.

Then i look at my horse in disgust.

The game looks amazing.

From what I can tell, the combat system seems to be a bit more traditional than Xenoblade's. Beautiful looking game!

I really really hope this is a 2013 title.

Yeah, im actually seeing all kinds of naysayers using truly ridiculous examples to 'show' how 'been there done that' X is, but all its doing is showing just how very, very, very, gravely they are misjudging the scale of whats being done here.

HELL YES. One of my only gripes with the first game was that I was forced to rely on CPU control for the other two characters -- instead of my brother and a good number of friends who would probably be more helpful. This game's already a must-buy, but co-op control would make it absolutely perfect!

The chatbox all but confirms online multiplayer, and chat at least in text form. My guess right away is that the chatbox is available on the gamepad screen whenever you want it. HOPEFULLY voice chat will be there as well.

No one said that online multiplayer is confirmed because it could be local multiplayer or 2 players with no name (Player #1, #2 as placeholder).

Any kind of speculation are welcomed but who says "confirm" with no source doesn't confirm it.

I'll put it this way: My wishful thinking can infect my words. You are correct. However, this plus friends fighting together plus what appear to be name-tags over characters in the first beach shot are good evidences that lead me to believe that online multiplayer may be present.

The chatbox, when I translate it, provides evidence for online play.

Two of these people appear to be meeting for the first time. They can then all engage the monster. This is strong evidence for online.

Yeah, I still can see strong evidence of multiplayer as X trailer clearly showed. I really do want to play with online player than being alone to grindin' all day. I never said that online play is not possible. Anyone just can't confirm enough without official source.

It looks better than Xenoblade, to be honest. And flying around on an overworld on a Mech seems like it'll be fun.

Also... Chatboxes are kinda a weird thing to have for local multiplayer, what with being able to talk with the person sitting next to you.

I think i've watched the trailer 27 times....and a half. This game looks too good. I really hope it's going to be localized

If Reggie doesn't want another thing like the Xenoblade fiasco to happen he will localize this game

Reggie better be prepping for a simultaneous release in the west. Otherwise he will find that his body is NOT ready for what will be coming!

I think just based off the fact that the xenoblade localization, along with the other two rainfall games and the fact that it was shown on the english version of the direct means that it definitely will be localized without hassle.

The game reminds me of Lost Planet 2 for some odd reason.

Also, mechs. Mechs. Freaking mechs.

Its going to definately be localized. To NA. 80% of Xenoblades sales came from NA..... Europe however.... barely touched it. They should be worried.

As far as I know, Xenoblade took around 2 years to develop (released in 2010). Assuming Monolithsoft went to work on this title right after that, then we are coming up on the three year mark for development time. Hopefully we get the game in 2013, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it pushed to 2014.

I don't know. I could see Nintendo possibly pushing for a 2013 release so that they have it out in time for the holidays to compete with the other two systems. If I had to guess, I'd say their holiday line up would be Mario U, Mario Kart, Wind Waker, and this. The games would probably eat in to each other's sales a bit but a combination like that would appeal to more gamers and net them more hardware sales, which is probably most important to them at the moment.

Since Monolith Soft is first party, you know they had a head start on tinkering with dev kits before any third parties did. Even if they didn't begin production until E3 2011 (just using that date for reference) then the game would be two years in by this E3, and again that's assuming that's when they started.

Actually, xenoblade spent a really long time in production. It was started before disaster.

That lineup with pokemon going back to October would just be insane, but I guess they would need to go there if both of other consoles did release this year. Other wise I would say that saving one of the mario games and X for a few months later would benefit them more.

If the game is playable this E3, then I think there is a very strong chance it will come out this year. Probably won't have any indication until then though :/ The studio has also hired more staff since XB's development, which should speed up the process a bit more.

I definitely see WWHD and MKU making it out for the holidays though, and maybe even Mario U depending on the state we see it in at E3.

It'd be an intense line up, but I think it'd be the best way for them to get the most out of their head start; to create a substantial install base advantage over the other two before this next gen truly 'begins'. I think that's what helped the 360 so much.

Sounds right to me. If it's playable then it's a good sign. I do think that we will see Mario though, simply because we already know for a fact it will be playable at E3. To me that strongly suggest they have a playable demo either already prepared or will have one in a short amount of time.

So, they have probably been working on this at the most 2 years? I say we see it by summer 2014, maybe sooner though. I don't know much about development, but Xeno looks pretty good, and the Wii was weak, so making it look good could've taken longer. The sooner we get this the better.

Ooh, nice work. So Takahashi started fleshing out the concept during disaster, and tben development started immediaty after disaster, in early 2007.

Such an awesome game. Im so glad nintendo was publishing. No one else would have told a developer to go all the way.

Realistically all we can do is wait until E3 where we will hopefully get a good bit of new info and possibly gameplay vids and hands on impressions.

I absolutely messed myself when MC got into that mech and proceeded to FLY OFF THE CLIFF. FAJDSLK;JAGLKJGIONAGL

HOLY CRAP. The sheer scale of this game... I can't even. SO MUCH inexplicable hype. This has all but replaced my Versus hype (for now). Seriously. I NEED more details for this game. I NEED THIS GAME.

I also think/hope this is just alpha/pre-alpha footage as there appears to be a bit of placeholders and quite a few things that need redressing (eg: water, some ground textures). If it is, and it already looks this stunning, just imagine how the final product will look. My God.

With that said, I'm anticipating an early-mid 2014 release, but who knows? With just this little trailer, Monolithsoft has shown to me how incredibly apt they are at developing for HD already, so they could probably beast through this to release by holiday 2013 in JP if they really wanted.

When I listened to the background music for the first time, I somehow knew the composer since the music is pretty similar to Japanese dorama that I watched. When I checked it online, the composer actually did couple of songs in Team Medical Dragon 1, 2 & 3, Taiyou no uta and several other anime


It's a chat box and it's a conversation between a few people in the game, so it must be online multiplayer (Even though it's not confirmed yet). If it's local multiplayer, then why there is no split screen? (Unless Nintendo and Monolith Soft were showing the gamepad in action, which doesn't really make sense to show a game in the gamepad as a trailer). By the way, they will probably allow gamers to type using the gamepad, so it would be easier than typing with a normal controller.

Xenoblade Chronicles is my all-time favourite game. Seeing how extremely similar this looks, it has to be a successor or a spiritual successor to the game. So... am I excited for a sequel to my favourite game of all time? Guess three times. I'd buy the Wii U for this game alone!

I don't know if anyone's posted this yet but these guys do a pretty good analysis. I'd also point out that in the trailer one of the mechs actually decapitates that large dinosaur looking monster and one of the spider monsters gets a part of its body destroyed. Since you can obviously attack new specific body parts, maybe this means you can critically injure certain parts of enemies to weaken them. Such as maybe taking down legs would make them fall down or something.

That would be really awesome because leaves the potential for there to be giantsized monsters that you would have to take down slowly different parts at a time.

That's what I'm thinking. Or perhaps taking down different parts would disable certain enemy attacks. Like in the vid when they destroy the spider's websack, maybe that would make it where that enemy would no longer be able to use webs.

It could add in a lot of strategy. Like maybe you're fighting some super strong boss who has a devastating attack which makes a certain body part top priority to destroy so your party doesn't get ktfo'd. Or something like that. Nonetheless I really hope we get more solid details come E3 instead of just this speculation.

Grrr....need money now for WiiU. >.< Then again I also need to pick up the operation rainfall games.

Maybe quadraxis from metroid prime 2 will make a cameo in the game as a monster to fight.

Definitely my most anticipated game alongside Smash.

Yea I'm very excited for this game. Didn't play Xenosaga or Xenogears but I did play Xenoblade and this looks similar to it. The character they showed in the recent trailer at E3 looks like Zack from FF to me. I wonder if they changed the main character over to this new guy. It's looks very open world, Good looking graphics, fun combat, giant mechs and monsters.

Seriously what more could you ask for? I think I'm gonna love this game IMO.

I'm only concerned about the overall gameplay and style of battling. I hope if it is all auto attack, that at least the battle system is more accessible.

I'd be stoked if they decided to remake Xenoblade in HD for the Wii U along side this game. But there's no way that's happening, lol. I never played Xenoblade :'(

I just finished xenoblade today, all i can say is : " One of the best games i've ever played", it comes just after my top 1 (zelda - ocarina of time) , i can't wait to get more information about Mono's X, but if its at least 50% of xenoblade it'll be AWSOME, i need to get a wii u ASAP.
