Default Wii U Owners, it's been a few months. How are you feeling?

The Wii U has been out for a a few months now, so how would you sum up your experience thus far and what's your Wii U owning future looking like? Awesome? Lame? Holding out for the best wave of games your eyes did ever see, or are you *this* close to turning the thing in?

Personally, thus far things have been pretty good. I'd say great if Rayman Legends was released when it was supposed to, but bleghk. It's been a joy seeing Nintendo games in HD, it feels crazily right. I love the controller, Miiverse is cool, eShop has great potential and the browser is really useful. The future is looking much better then the current situation, what with 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Wind Waker, Pikmin and more. But so far I definitely think I've spent my money well.

How about you?

Even though it looks like my focus will be on the 3DS for the foreseeable future, I'm happy with my purchase. NSMBU and MSFHD were great experiences. Sidescrolling Mario is always a blast for me, and Mighty Switch Force is just so good, and looks absolutely delicious.

There is so much to look forward to as well, including the fusion of two of my favourite series, which I am absolutely ecstatic about.

Roll on, good times.

My experience so far has been somewhere inbetween awesome and lame.

At the moment I haven't really been using my Wii U much since there's nothing currently available that interests me. However, the future is looking awesome and I'll get more use out of my Wii U once certain titles are released. I'm really looking forwards to "X", Wind Waker HD, a new Zelda and new 3D Mario (please don't be like 3D Land/Galaxy) and Pikmin 3 which is looking visually stunning so far.

So far it's been good. I haven't really touched it much because I beat NSMB U. I only have that game and Nintendo Land. I'm excited for the Walking Dead game and Pikmin 3.

Is the Walking Dead gonna be purchasable as a digital only or will it be sold as a hard copy?

Well I've just ordered mine because of MH3U. TWW HD will be pretty great, I'm hoping they add additional content, still buying if they don't though lol. Runner 2 looks fun so might pick that up as well.

I would say very good so far. As you said, had Rayman not been delayed it would be propelled to great. It's helped somewhat that I held off from getting a few titles on PS3 so I had more to play on the Wii U, so with Zombi U, Nintendoland, COD, Arkham City, AC:3, Trine 2 and Puddle, i've had plenty to play.

I'm going to get Most Wanted in a few weeks time and maybe Lego City, but after that it really is looking quiet for a good few months. All the future games already mentioned i'm interested in, and P.101 looks like it's shaping up to be a must have too.

Luv it!

I got 3 games, zombi u, mario U and nintendo land which all turned out to be awesome, im surprised to say nintendo land is my fav game its so much fun with 5 people, probably one of the best multiplayer games Ive ever played

Ive spend hours on google street, the technology is stunning!

Luvin the monthly 30p games, f-zero is brilliant

Nexflix and love film's compstibility is great, if my gf wants to watch tv she can change the channel and i can carry on watching on the gamepad

Backwards compatibility is always a good thing too

There is a list of great games up coming

My only critisim is that for 'a next generation console' the graphics should be alot better for some of the wii u exclusive games

I've been loving my WiiU. Since I 100%ed NSMBU it hasn't been getting too much use outside of Miiverse and the browser. Still got Nintendo Land which is good fun, but I'm prettt much waiting for Lego City: Undercover. Oh, I do have Pikmin. That's been my main game outside of Attraction Tours with brother and sisters. Things are definitely gonna be getting good. Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101 a few months after LC:U, some unannounced games, and all the **** that goes down in the "holiday season." This will be great.

I'll share some of the different points on the Wii U in general.

Games: The games I have right now are NintendoLand and NSMBU.

Good

-Graphics are excellent
-The lasting appeal is more extensive than what I realize
-Many of the elements between the two games were challenging

Bad

-More Nintendo games and less 3rd party
-More online games
-Expensive

MiiVerse:

Good

- Players can help you through difficult times
- Activity Feed
- Being able to draw
- Screen shots
- Send private messages
- Own topic threads
- Being able to friend anyone

Bad

- Needs a Chat Room
- 100 Character Limitation is frustrating
- Not being able to post a video through MiiVerse
- Lack of System Wide Achievement system
- It would be nice if you can actually write on the players profile, like they do with FaceBook.
- I would love it to have the ability where you can save screenshots to an SD card
- Nintendo definitely needs to add Live icons, or near future ad timeline for Miiverse, or pop-ups would be nice.

Wii U in general

Good

- Being able to watch movies
- Miiverse
- A notification that someone is online when you press the "Home" menu and indicates when they have been on last
- Play History with that player
- Wii Street U
- 3000 Miis on Mii Maker
- EShop, Internet, Miiverse, Friend List as multitask apps.

Bad

- I think players should be able to upload any picture they want as their profile picture, rather than just having a Mii as your profile picture.
- Needs more multitasking Apps
- Transfer all the Wii VC games to the Wii U menu, instead of launching the Wii
App.
- Needs pop up notifications like "Someone is online" while your in a middle of a game, or if someone sent you a message.
- Change the Wii U chat to a multitask app and being able to chat while playing the games at the same time.
-Nintendo should release more Nintendo games on the Wii U Eshop

Overall, I found the system to be unique so far. Looking back, I would have been better off waiting til the price dropped because of the lack of games, and the slow OS it has. Lack of advertisement really hurts the sales, and you don't exactly feel like you made the transformation from Wii to Wii U. The games I have are good and all, but the lack of games that are out right now are not appealing.

My experience: 7/10

My time with Wii U has been alright I guess. Before it launched I thought it would put an end to my PS3 gaming but I see thats not the case. The few games I have had on the Wii U are great and all but there just isnt enough games at the moment and its a bit ridiculous that there really wasnt anything released from November until now. This always happens with Nintendo. They have so many dry spells. Really I dont even know why I buy their systems anymore other than Zelda. And with PS4 around the corner my Wii U may be a little neglected lol. I dont think Iv turned on my Wii U since I beat Black Ops 2 in January. But Im turning it back on for Monster Hunter 3 and Pikmin 3. After that, I dont know when will be the next time I boot up my Wii U. Probably when The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD comes out. Its sad really. I thought I would get my main 8th gen system out of the Wii U but it looks like all thats really coming out from my Wii U is a bridge between the 7th gen consoles and the 8th gen consoles.

Kinda bummed about the massive post-launch drought. We need more games!

Lego City Undercover will hopefully tide me over until Injustice...but I feel like I'm sort of stumbling along looking for titles.

I've fortunately have some wii games to catch up on, other wise I basically wouldnt have really used it much at all since early january, but I knew there would be a game drought. Monster hunter coming out now though, and it looks like the second half of the year should be really good. Plus revelations unveiled in may, so overall it will be way better pretty soon like the 3ds.

I love my Wii U, it's fun and graphics look beautiful. I have Nintendo Land and Batman: Arkham City HD. Though, I don't use my Wii U very much because the lack of games, I can hardly wait for all the great games that are coming out. Let's just say, there's going to be a giant crater in my wallet.

I haven't really touched it in weeks..

I would say I'm disappointed, but frankly I wasn't planning on getting it so soon - my girlfriend bought it for me for Christmas. Which was really nice and all, but there just hasn't been enough content to keep my interests. I played Nintendo Land and NSMBU, and then bought Trine 2 off the eShop (which I really enjoyed.) But now it's just collecting dust until Pikmin comes out and it starts to pick up some momentum.

So I'd be lying if I said I was happy with it. At the moment, at least. I think it has potential.

Whenever I'm playing it, I'm having a great time! Yet I don't play it that much, despite having a backlog on it already. I've already beaten NSMBU ( 100%, not doing challenge mode), Skylanders Giants, and Little Inferno ( 100%). And Balloon Fight I guess. I still have to beat Scribblenauts, Epic Mickey ( Maybe), and Sonic Racing. Plus F-Zero and Mighty Switch Force HD.

As for my feelings about the console, I'd say it's doing well from a games standpoint. eShop has been updated quite a few times with new games and the monthly VC game. A few new games are to be released within the coming weeks ( 30 cent VC game, Need for Speed, Lego City, Monster Hunter, Zen Pinball, Toki Tori). So I'm pleased with it. But the console was mostly in a drought from launch to now. And another drought might arise within the weeks after these games release.

Right now my wiiU is a paper weight. New super Mario bros U just feels like the game I own already on my DS. Nintendo land is fun but it only keeps me playing for so long before I get bored and switch to my PS3. I'm hoping monster hunter 3 changes this.

I love it. While I do use my PS3 that is only due to having more games for it since it is older. I only have Mario U right now and hope to buy more once some go down in price

With Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Wonderful 101, and Pikmin 3 all coming out fairly soon; I'd say I'll have a more in-depth review of the Wii U coming soon.

I'm having a ball with the damn system. Got lots of games on it and it's kinda hard to type this up right now because it's staring at me like some sly temptress and must resist....

Titles that I have really enjoyed playing on it thus far have been Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, Black Ops II, Sonic Racing Transformed, Assassin's Creed III, Fist of the North Star Ken's Rage 2, NFS Most Wanted U and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

ZombiU and Nintendo Land have just been a massively big fat meh. ZombiU was just far too cumbersome for me. There's a difference between a great, fluid integration of the Gamepad's functions, and using as many as you can without really making sense of those functions. I avoid those titles like the plague, hoping someday someone else will finish them for me instead.

I'm hoping we'll get a strong variety of games on this system, as opposed to just getting plummeted with expected titles. I want to see devs come forth with surprising projects, and I want them to come to the Wii U.

I am well aware of that, but I imagine that Nintendo's solution to wiiU's sales will be mario as it was with the 3ds. At the moment, i'm all mariod out, even what seems to be an excellent game in Luigis Mansion 2, just doesn't have me playing it. We need new ips, or at least ip's that have been relatively ignored instead of this non stop mario flood we have had.

Super Mario 3d Land, Mario Tennis Open, Mario Kart 7, New Super Mario Bros 2, New Super Mario Bros U, Paper Mario Sticker Star, Luigis Mansion 2 (yes it is still part of the mario ip in my eyes), and soon to come out a Mario Rpg for the 3ds, mario golf, and no doubt a 3d Mario and Mario Kart for the WiiU, also Mario smash bros (whatever they are going to call this next one). The sheer amount that has been released recently to me is absurd and outside of 3d Land and Mario Kart 7, have all disappointed (not including Luigis Mansion 2 as I have yet to formulate an opinion on it).

Nintendo declared this the year of Luigi, I really wish it was the year of new ip's, or at least an existing ip that has not been getting the kind of attention mario and those related have been. As it is Nintendo are selling themselves nearly entirely on Mario and I am getting tired of it (and can see it backfiring on them if they continue milking him like they have been for the last year and a half or so).

The 3ds gets a pass at the moments as it has many games from third party devs that interest me. The wiiU does not, and I imagine once the ps4 and next box hit matters will only get worse. Hence i'm not felling so good about the wiiU.

I still have not gotten one yet, but I plan to get one soon so I can transfer my MH3U 3ds save file to play online. Not really interested in Most Wanted U since I completed it on my pc. As soon as the exclusives come out however is when the system will take off. It had pretty good sales this week according to vgchartz which isnt really that reliable but its better than nothing I guess haha

Mario is a huge reason why the North American console market was saved. He is the face of the video game industry. He is going to be used a lot because nintendo isn't stupid. Most of the games you listed are outsourced and besides mario in the title, are nothing alike. There is a Pikmin and Yoshi game coming and Nintendo also helped with Lego City. WiiU is extremely young, and 3DS is only 2 years in. Bring people in with Mario and then the gamers will look at the other titles.

Having a ball of a time with my Wii U and Lego City Undercover.
The only games I have for the Wii U are:
1. New Super Mario Bros U
2. Scribblenauts
3. Nintendo Land
4. Lego City Undercover

How am I feeling?

Where the fu** is Pikmin 3.

That's how I'm feeling. This is why I bought the system, and it was supposed to be out by now, still no release date in sight.

So to sum it up, I'm extremely angry. There is nothing on the system other than NSMBU and a few E-Shop games that interest me. What happened Ninty?

To be fair, they made it pretty clear that it was almost for sure going to be out by launch window, so he and others were expecting it to have been out now.

Yeah, just saying. Waiting until the game was actually out, even if it was launch window, would have been good.

Games get delayed all the time.

As for me I enjoy it but do see where people are coming from with the lack of games issue. I think even with a lack of games a Nintendo Direct giving out release dates would be nice.

A Wii U 3rd party direct could help too. Maybe we get one this month idk

As far as I can tell all the mario game I said where developed by Nintendo's internal dev teams. It doesn't really matter though, to much of anything tends to cause problems in the long run. It doesn't matter if they where made by Nintendo or outsourced. I fell Nintendo needs to focus on more then just Mario along with occasional Zelda and Metroid.

I also really doubt Nintendo helped with Lego beyond the usual help with making it work with there system.

Mario may have saved the console in the the past. But the 360 and ps3 have been doing much better then the wii for a long time without any mario. What happens to Nintendo if Mario losses his popularity? Nintendo would likely go into liquidation rather quickly, they might as well be Nintendo.... a division of Mario.

The wiiU seems to be destined to be another wii, crappy third party support, a system that is likely under-powered compared to its competition and a system that most loose interest in quickly and dust of for the occasional good first party game. To me that is disappointing, and Nintendo should be worried as they got a pass with the wii as they has a gimmick that attracted a casual crowd who has since abandoned them in droves. At the same time the wii annoyed many big Nintendo fans. The result, the wiiU is selling poorly and doesn't look like it will recover unless they can pull a 3ds on us with Mario Kart and a 3d mario. Though I imagine that tactic will not work so well this time with the ps4 and next box being released at similar times.

We shall see, one thing Nintendo needs to do is actually show people why the wiiU is worth getting. At the moment all they have is a 2d mario game that could have been released on the wii, a lego game and a small number of games that keep on getting delayed.

I have faith it will do well. I must admit though that we really need Pikmin 3 right now. I have been enjoying my Wii U so far though. It has some great features, my favorite being the off tv play feature. I'm so glad I'm able to use the internet browser when my mom is using the laptop, it saves us both from fighting over the pc. It's also great that I can play a game and mom and watch TV. It saves lives everyone.
