Talking Spiritual Sequel to Eternal Darkness coming to the Wiiu!

9 Minutes of Shadow of the Eternals - Road to E3 Inside Look - IGN Video How do you guys feel about this? I never played the first one (Never got a Gamecube) but it seems like that type of game I would love. Plus it's nice to get games like this on the Wiiu.

I got the first Eternal Darkness for only $15 a few days ago.

Excellent timing.

But they've made such great games like Too Human and X-Men: Destiny.

I wouldn't back anything Dyack is involved in. Whether it be a spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness or not. His EGO was too large for the quality of games he has made. And Trying to sue EPIC for his crap game selling like crap...(too human) and not paying EPIC royalties for use of their engine blah blah blah.

Yeah, me no like Denis Dyack.

Maybe I'd support this if their funding was through Kickstarter and not through their own website--where our money is non-refundable whether we reach the goal or not. I'd love to see another Eternal Darkness, but there's no way in hell I'm trusting my money with Dyack.

Why is everyone freaking out about how this is going to be garbage because it's being made by silicon knights, they were the one's who made the original Eternal Darkness.

It's not that we think that the game would be bad, it's the man who directing the production - Denis Dyack. This guy single-handedly ran his former company Silicon Knights into the ground through mismanagement and contracting a lawsuit from Epic Games. He has a knack for making big claims and underperforming. The man is an incarnation of the "ugly-side" of the videogame business. So that's why most people are hesitant to support this project. Not because we think it would be a bad game. Quite the contrary--Eternal Darkness was one of my favorite Gamecube titles and I've wanted a sequel for over a decade now. Not to mention the Wii U desperately needs new exclusives.

The thing that gets me though, is the way they're funding the project. The fact that they aren't doing it through Kickstarter is completely shady and unreliable. They'll take your money regardless of whether they reach their obscenely high goal of $1.5 million for just the pilot. But apparently $1.5 million isn't even a hard goal, and any money will go into the game. They make a vague promise of refunds if it doesn't look like they'll get enough to make the game, but I highly doubt that could ever happen. If the whole thing goes to hell, creditors aren't going to let you give money to people you don't actually owe anything to, and it's not like you can just "refund" money that you no longer have.

Damn this looks promising. Sucks to hear that the guy running the show is such a knob. Anyone else think that if this doesn't go through, then Nintendo should pull a Bayonetta 2?
