I don't get it...what is a dream suite?

It's a feature on New Leaf that let's you visit an uploaded copy of a player's town. However, nothing you do there will be carried over back into the real world.

Why not? Some players have very, very nice towns. Since it's not the real thing, you can accidentally ruin the town without retribution. It's a little more convenient way of visiting another player's town without having to set a meeting time, especially if the other player is busy.

Think of it as an expanded version of the HRA/HHA Showcase.

There's no way I'm going to visit everybody's anytime soon, so here are my current random visits:

Cod-E/Aspertia: I really enjoyed running around your town, despite the signs, and destroying your flowers. You have some cute villagers! I hate mice but the cheese-mouse is hard to not like. I was disappointed your house wasn't all that decorated, but all in due time. well, I assume you are the boy villager. I didn't end up visiting the other character's house. Oh and I fell in a pitfall I forgot to look at patterns.

Smeaxy/Cinnibar: Cool river... it's so... straight. Isn't two TVs overkill? At least only one was left on, I suppose, but perhaps you should worry a bit more about your electricity bill. Don't worry, I turned it off for you. Oh my. The other house's exterior is so cute. Jelly of the tarantula inside. You still don't have a 3rd bridge (unless the dream hasn't been updated). I think if you did add another, I would delete the current one on the straightway and make two on it instead which were evenly spaced apart. I don't particularly think another one is needed, though.

Hey Hydro, can you assist me in an experiment? If you have an axe, cut down the cedar tree to the front left side of your town hall (near the rock thats closest the fountain)

If or when you cut it down tell me if there is anything interesting about the stump.

Also, if your dream suite was updated today, there should be a knight and a ninja sword in the trees just below the one I told you to cut down.

Ok so I cut down the tree and the result: The stump is a pefect circle with no chip. It's unusual. The other trees, however, only had a steamroller and editor's chair. My dream suite was updated yesterday so that's probably why it changed?

no chip, does the inside have the shape of a flower?

If so then I think we learned 2 things:
1) you can find special stumps without cutting down trees by having someone go to your dream address.
2) you can figure out which trees will have furniture, however you can't tell what furniture it will be.

considering silver axes give you more a chance of getting special stumps, I think that is not pre-determined. The item thing might be true though.

Well it seems like more than a coincidence that when I cut down the tree in a dream it had a flower pattern and when he cut it down in real life it has the same pattern.

Anyone, want to find a special stump in my town? My Dream code is on page one of this thread.

Silver axes should give you 100% chance of getting one of the "special stumps". I used a silver axe to cut down six trees while I was setting up my paths and each one had a special symbol.

Also, I just went to update my town's dream and they gave me a new Dream Code. Not sure why? Regardless, my new code is 4600-2173-1419.
