Wink Fighting for nintendo

So i am a huge nintendo fan but am slowly getting discouraged by the content of wii u. E3 was alright they spoke of games we already new about, except for maybe donkey kong. But do u think the games spoken of during e3 will be enough to push nintendo towards the top where they belong or what do u think they can do better. Brand new ip? New metroid? Whst r your thoughts?

Two words: SMASH BROS.

So was it enough at e3? Yes.

Release Smash Bros. now. Also a new Metroid as long as it isn't horrible like the Prime games.

I liked the Prime games... They weren't bad like Other M.

One thing I think they should have done was taken a different route with Super Mario 3D World. It seemed like people were very excited about it and then disappointed when they realized it was very similar to 3D Land.

Very true in regards to the similarities between 3d land and 3d world but if its a sequel, which nintendo said it isnt i think of mario galaxy 2, a sequel that was just as amazing if not better than the original. I think it would be great for nintendo to come out with a brand new ip exclusive

The Wii U really is failing right now. They really haven't done much with it, and that's probably why. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Nintendo fan, and I hate to see them fail, but the facts are the facts. One thing we have to keep in mind however is that the 3DS is totally dominating the marketplace. I'm not worried for the overall well-being of Nintendo because of how their two products pretty much cancel each other out; one is dominating, the other...is struggling.

I hope to see the sales increase. I bet that Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, and some of the other titles that they released will help out, but they still NEED to add new Metroid, Zelda, and other first party games to that. If they can do that, 3rd party devs will start to see a good reason to join the Wii U, and sales will only increase from there.

You know I'm getting a bit worried for Wii U since only Nintendo fans seems to like it.. I mean everybody seems to be taking the PS4 route.. Nintendo needs to push their other IPs I mean I can see Metroid making a better MMO game than Cod or Battlefield, and once that's there 3rd parites will join the party!

As long as they continue to make games you like, and aren't in danger of going out of business, who cares?

Nintendo doesn't need you "fighting" for them. "Winning" a console war is by and large meaningless for the vast majority of consumers.

Yea this. I want the wii u to sell good enough, but I dont care if it wins the "console war". As long as they keep making systems and games, I'm fine.

A price cut is also in order for the WiiU. At just $50 cheaper than a PS4 I just can't see many people coming on board.

What they really need to do is start getting games out there. I love the Wii U's hardware, but I barely ever touch it because there's nothing out. Start supporting indie developers who are interested in working with Nintendo, and they'll hold us over until bigger retail titles are released. Make some new partners, Nintendo. You're probably the best company in the industry for scouting new talent. Expand on your second-party developers like Platinum Games, Monolith Soft, and Retro Studios, because they have all proven that they can make some amazing exclusives. Give consumers a reason to want to get the Wii U over other consoles, apart from just tablet-gaming. The Wii U isn't going to be the family-friendly console the Wii was. Smartphones and tablets pretty much control the casual market now. Nintendo needs to win back its hardcore fanbase back. If it does, big companies like EA, Ubisoft, and Activision will start supporting Nintendo again and we'll expect more multi-platform titles. Then, their first-party IPs will be the icing on the cake.

God, it sounds so simple when it's written down. I don't understand why it has to be so hard.

Nintendo needs more third party support to reach outside their fans. Either by having most of the multiplats, having a ton of exclusives, or both. If not, they're gonna get a handful of Bayonetta fans and not much else. I think it will be another GC but I'm fine with that, since I always get more than one console. Even with only existing Nintendo fans, they'll still make a profit. Even if they don't, they're rolling in billions. Definitely don't need help lol.

You don't really have to fight for Nintendo you know?

From the past, you can see that Nintendo always go on at their own pace. Be sure to see the WiiU at least until 2017. The good games will come en masse one day or another. You just have to be patient, even if Nintendo don't seems (for the moment) interested in showing its licences at their best.

I can spend the extra $100 dollars for a PS4 and get a 500GB HDD along with guaranteed third party support

Are you serious about the Prime series?
I am surprised you are still alive after that. Many people, including me, really like the Prime series. I personally prefer it from the sidescrolling (although I recognize they were also great games)

Right now, at this point in time, I see zero reason to own a Wii U. 3DS is where it is at ATM. Since Smash Bros is coming for 3DS as well, there really isn't much to look forward to in the immediate future.

Myself, I actually do want to play the Windwaker update, and Super Mario 3D World. But that really isn't enough to plunk down $300.
