I'd definitely like to see a local mulitplayer option where the gamepad is used to allow two players in the same room to explore the town at the same time.

mainly just story progression. Leila gets bigger. Reese and Cyrus have a baby. Timmy and Tommy stop being so small.
ALSO PICK WHERE NEIGHBORS CAN MOVE THEIR HOUSES FFFFF Hope it takes a few years.

Go for a different camera angle than the rolling-log effect.

I'd like to see new eye shapes/new faces, new hair styles/lengths and colours for the characters.
Bigger looking houses with more themes and customization abilities. Actual paths you can lay down that aren't so time consuming to place and DOESN'T sound like grass when you walk on them. Some more things to catch/sell besides insects and fish, like maybe reptiles. Also some new fish, insects, fruit and some different types of trees and flowers. I'd also like the ability to move all the buildings and houses to where ever I want them to be. That's all I can think of for now.

It would be interesting if there was connectivity between New Leaf and the Wii U game in some way.
And the public works projects could be improved and have more practical use for the town instead of just looking nice. Some of the projects are just bad. A rack of rice seriously? |

I think it would be cool to be able to cook in game.
A later supermarket expansion would include simple things like flour, sugar, etc. You would just press "a" in front of your oven, drop a few ingredients in (like dropping letters from your inventory to the send box) and voila! And you would be able to cook the fish you catch! It is a really far-fetched idea, but I always want to bake my town's fruit into something... Oh well!

Multiple job system (Store clerk, mayor, police man, etc.)
A much bigger town (A real town, not 10 people, like 30 at least) More stores More events Bigger house and expansions (Greenhouse, attic, more rooms, bigger rooms, etc.) Quests (Much like the ones Isabelle gave) Villagers send you on long hunts (Give this to ..., now get this from ... and give it to X) More Nintendo-themed items

Different camera angle. I'd like a normal 3rd person perspective, rotatable angle. I know many would consider this killing the "AC feel" but I'm sick of not knowing what's under me/being able to properly look around.
Appart from that, being able to be more than 4p in a town/group at once would be swell. And not have it take 9000 years when someone new comes to visit the town. Geez.

Animal Crossing New Leaf hopefully isn't where this series will end, I still think that there is much room for improvement (I do praise New Leaf for actually trying, unlike City Folk).
~The outdoor furniture/Public Works projects needs much work. The current system is very limited. Objects shouldn't need so much space around them. Plus, they shouldn't all be quite as expensive. In the GCN version sign boards were like 200 bells. The very same object in New Leaf costs 40,000 bells in New Leaf. That's ridiculous. If we could get a more casual outdoor furniture system, it would be so much better. Some objects like fountains, light posts, buildings should remain as more expensive Public Works Projects, but benches and sign boards shouldn't cost 50,000 bells, and should be able to be casually be able to be placed outside wherever anytime, and facing any direction, with that. We also need a lot more types of outdoor furniture. I see no harm in the series in adding fences along your town and things like that to add more flow to the town. ~The exterior house customization also leaves much to be desired. There's only like three different designs, and honestly, aside from the cottage none of them are really anything I want to see. They're a bit extreme. Nook's Homes I also felt is a bit poorly executed in of itself. You blind buy everything... There needs to be a preview system, at the very least. You should also be able to reorder anything you purchased in the past. Those are the two things that really need improvement in my eyes. Oh, and they better add woodwind/brass instruments this time around. I mean you've got to be kidding me... It's as if they're intentionally avoiding adding them now, as every other section is there, and represented not only with the regular instruments, but gone on to more obscure/less played instruments like the harpsichord and lute. I feel insulted. -_-

Honestly with the natural evolution of stuff to do in Animal Crossing, I feel like cooking would be a good next step and not feel too strange. To be able to cook with what you grow and the fish that you catch, plus perhaps ingredients you can buy at a store, imagine the possibilities of making and sharing dishes. Of course, dishes would need practical uses to the gameplay as well. Cooking holidays could happen - either competitive or not. There's all sorts of things that cooking could bring to Animal Crossing.

I want the seasons to match wherever in the world you live. At the moment in New Leaf for me it feels kinda silly for it to be Summer in my town when it's currently Winter here.

I've playing New Leaf a lot the past few days I have it, so id there's an improved WiiU installment in the series it'd make me strongly consider saving up for a WiiU. That'd also give me the chance to play some more Nintendo games like the two LoZ titles they've announced.

More Nintendo themed items: I want Some Fire Emblem inspired items, some Kid Icarus, Ice Climbers, Game and Watch etc. Basically, for a starting point, every series represented in Super Smash Bros as a starting point.
More project freedom: I don't want to be told that I can't build said building because there's a pond 5 feet away from it. I want realistic (Or maybe non realistic actually) building abilities. Better online play: Wifi island is cool and all, but I want more options for playing with people online. Although +1 to Nintendo for allowing for some form of free chat online. More project options: I think this was mentioned before, but I don't want to just get the option of building a useless fire hydrant. I want more, like a farm or a waterpark (A bit extravagant lol) something! More customization: My biggest point, skin tones, clothing options, etc. Wii U can handle it. Connectivity: Also mentioned before, but I want some form of connectivity between 3ds and Wii U versions. New Leaf did many things good, don't get me wrong, but there's always room for improvement. I have more points, but I'll leave it at this ^^
