So what do you guys think Flipnote Studios 3D will be all about? what do you guys plan on doing ? i've heard that it will be releasing on early August. So yeah, i know you havent even played it yet but how would you rate the game just by looking at it ??

Can't wait! It's a much needed installment in the eShop, and it looks like they added some extra tools. I wish there were more than three layers available for the 3D effect. (Colors 3D had 5)

Here are my features I want: I wrote this before some details were known, but most of my hopes are still relevant.

What features do you all hope to see in Flipnote Studio 3D and Flipnote Gallery? I'll Start.

Zooming In: I shouldn't have to explain this one. Not everybody has perfectly steady hands to work on those tiny details.

More than 1 color per layer: Don't tell me the 3DS can't handle this. It can play Netflix. This one feature would make the whole package SO much better it's not even funny.

Play from current frame: When you're trying to sync lip movements up to one-minute audio and you have to watch the whole thing to try and mark the frame the next consonant the character is saying, it gets old.

Better local organization: The "sticker" system in Flipnote Studio is a nice thought, but what if we *gasp* download more than 4 types of Flipnotes we want to organize? Either give us a Gmail-style label system, or the ability to create folders or organization.

Use music/audio from SD card: Probably won't happen for copyright reasons, but come on Nintendo, you can explain that away! Just create a form for copyright holders i.e. what Hatena has. If not including it won't stop people from using copyrighted music and audio, why not include it?

Support for typing/fonts: Not everybody has beautiful calligraphy, and this would be a pretty easy feature to add. It would also be cool if we could create our own fonts for typing, without the copy/paste method from Studio.

Just a simple upvote/downvote system, with the option to add the flip as a favorite.

Tags: Hatena tried to do this with Channels, but channels ended up being redundant and annoying, with people trying to link every flip to their channel for green stars. Nobody gets credit for creating a tag, so there's no reason to abuse this system. (Also, 'citizens' or people who have been around for a while should be able to edit other people's tags, who just add as many tags as possible so more people see their flips. Tag changes would be logged so you can report people who abuse the tag editing feature.)

Hide tags/creators: Also an idea that came from 1D fanfics. Just set your profile to hide the "one direction" tag and you can finally sleep at night. Also there were popular creators on Hatena I couldn't stand at all (i.e. MsMetaFan), so the option to hide them would be welcome.

Type comments: You think you can see the F-word in there, but other than that, you have no idea what this ten-year-old is trying to tell you. *delete.*

Rating system: Not saying I want porn on Gallery, but when your flip gets reported for saying the "hell" word things are ridiculous. Just a way to flag flips with objectionable content, and hide them from little kids only.

Weekly Topics: Not much else to say here. Hope Nintendo's administrating is as cool and involved as Aaron from Hatena.

2 taps to watch a flip: Okay, this one needs some more explaining. On Studio's version of Hatena, you couldn't see the title or creator of a flip without going into details. (You couldn't add them from the DSi either and I hope Studio 3D fixes this too!) So I'm hoping that one click will bring up a mini-window with the creator, title, and first few lines of the description, as well as a "Play" button. Also, the flip being played should stay on the top screen no matter where you go on the bottom screen. In Studio, if you accidentally tapped the bottom screen at all while a flip was playing, you had to load it again.

Personalized Homepage: When you log onto Gallery on the PC or 3DS, you should see a homepage with new flips from your favorites, popular flips, and flips that are related (tags) to flips you have upvoted in the past

Well in any case that's how I would do it. Nintendo should hire me.

I an very happy with Colors! 3D, but since Flipnote's app will be free I will check it out, but I doubt I will be a huge fan. Swapnotes and Colors! 3D is pretty much all I need, and I love them both.

There is a new zoom tool which appears to be really smooth. In the original flipnote studio, it would only increase by increments of 100% and such. Now you can do it very smoothly!

They added a new feature where you can add any sound effect directly to a specific frame. No more guestimating!

There are online galleries that you can create and share with other users. You (known as a collector) can find and rate quality flipnotes and create a collection. From doing this (and getting good responses from users who see your collections) you can earn collector points. If you get a high collector ranking, you'll be awarded with a pass that allows you to participate for another 30 days for no additional charge!

There is a new tool which allows users to type with text. Sadly, we only get to use the default system text. Anything else you want will most likely have to be done manually.

Towards the end of flipnote studio 3D, there was a button that was added to flipnotes that said, "I do not like this flipnote." with a thumbs down next to it. I would be very suprised if they took it away. It's also been stated that users who receive GOOD feedback on their flipnotes will be awarded with a pass which allows that user to participate for another 30 days free of charge. Sounds like there will be a youtube-like rating system (thumbs-up/thumbs-down).

I'm not sure about this one, but I'm pretty sure that they're letting you do that from the 3DS this time around. Although I recall there being many words that were blocked for no reason whatsoever when commenting from a computer. (Here are a few that were legitimately blocked, and wouldn't let you're comment go through: "happened", "connect", "blood", any curse/racial/sexual word, and so on).

I've seen some footage, and I'm afraid it doesn't work like that You can move around and browse flipnotes while one is playing on the top screen however! But it will stop when you press the > button to browse the next 9 pages of flipnotes.

Alright, I was SUPER-DUPER bored, so I decided to make this post to mention (and explain) just about every feature in the new Flipnote (as well as the online stuff) to destroy as much confusion as possible. (Anything in italics (slanted text) is a new addition).

FLIPNOTE STUDIO

PEN TOOL - This one doesn't need much explaining. It's the most generic drawing tool there is on flipnote. There are now 16 pens to choose from! They have also added a new feature (within the pen tool) which allows the user to type text in the system default font instead of having to use the classic copy & paste technique.

PAINT TOOL - Just like in the old flipnote studio, there is a paint tool which allowed the user to "shade" their drawings using different textures. There are now up to 40 paints to choose from (obviously, several new ones have been added)! Not only this, but there is now a fill feature which allows the user to fill in a certain area simply by tapping it!

ERASER TOOL - Nothing to explain here. Now up to 8 eraser sizes to choose from!

LAYERS - As in the old flipnote studio, there are layers, but now there are 3 of them! Each layer can have up to 2 colors on them (all six colors can be applied if only one layer is in use). Each layer represents a different dimension of depth in the flipnote!

COLORS - What would animation be without colors? Unlike the old flipnote, there are now 6 colors to choose from! - White, Black, Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green!

OUTLINE - Trace outlines of a selected area!

EDIT AREA - Say you need to edit something, anything for that matter! Select an area to to move, erase, change colors, re-size, rotate, flip, and more!

COPY & PASTE - Copy a selected area and paste it somewhere else (even on a different slide)! Great when it comes to sprite animations!

COLOR SWAP - Switch the colors in a selected area!

SET '? BRUSH' AS MOTIF - Set the ? Brush as a motif of your own that can be replicated! (You're essentially making you're own brush).

BRIGHTNESS/RESOLUTION OF PHOTOS - Control the brightness, resolution, colors, etc. of photos! Make them look like line-drawings or beautiful paintings!

RECORD SOUNDS - Record sounds and music into your flipnotes! NEW FEATURE: You're now able to insert sounds to any frame that you want. NO MORE GUESSING!!!

LIGHT BOX - Light box gives you a "shadow" of drawings from previous pages which allows you to animate more accurately.

SPEED - Just like in the past installment, you are able to change the speed of your animations! There are now 10 speeds to choose from!

PAGE LIMIT - There isn't a defined page-limit yet, but it's believed to be MUCH more than the past flipnote studio.

FLIPNOTE GALLERY: WORLD

What is it? Flipnote gallery: world is essentially the flipnote hatena of flipnote 3D, it's the online community of flipnote artists where people can view and share their flipnotes with EVERYONE around the world! (For those of you who are familiar with Hatena, there will no longer be any regions, just one large one that everyone shares!)

Sounds cool, tell me about some features! So there are two different types of people: creators and collectors. Creators are the ones who make the quality flipnotes, whereas collectors are the ones who find quality flipnotes, rate them, and add them to their collections!

Interesting, so how are people rated? Well in this new online flipnote service, there are coins. In the trial you start out with, you are granted 3 star coins, and 100 standard coins (properly known as "coins"). You can use either type of coin to post your flipnote to the online gallery. Regular coins can be used to rate flipnotes, comment on them, save them, and more!

What's the difference between the two coins? Seeing as the only released version of flipnote studio has been released, it's hard to say...One big difference is that you can post flipnotes with either coin. If you post it with a regular coin, it will be up for a certain number of days before being taken down (from the main gallery at least), but if it's posted with a star coin, it will stay up forever. But don't fear! Higher rated flipnotes will not be taken down!

These coins sound great, but why so few? For those of you who remember flipnote hatena, there were these things called stars, and every user got an infinite amount of them. This caused all sorts of problems such as star begging, and other greedy uses that I won't go into detail about. Coins eliminate that problem!

Oh, well that makes sense! Well this all sounds great! What's the catch...? There isn't one! Well, not a big one at least... Basically, flipnote gallery: world is open to EVERYONE absolutely FREE between the hours of 3:00PM and 9:00PM (according to the 3DS clock). However, anyone who has a 30 day pass is allowed on for 24 hour access and is granted 3 more star coins as well as 100 more regular coins!

So how much does this cost? $0.99/?0.89/?0.99 for every 30 days of service.

Is there any way in for free? Yes actually! If you are a popular creator/collector high in the ranks, you will be granted another 30 days absolutely free of charge!

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. How long can it take to prepare the servers? Why couldn't they keep Flipnote Hatena up until the new service launched? I'm having Flipnote withdrawals.

Although I do agree with there being a halfway decent mobile version for minecraft, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN

September 5th (4th in USA) 2013.

Why?
1) It shouldn't take longer than a month and a bit to fix the servers.
2) It's when the eShop updates.
3) We might get a Direct. The first for September.

Everyone knows the guys back in Flipnote are attempting to fix the servers, since the Japanese hit them so hard with a typhoon of flipnotes and post..... Hopefully they are going to fix this issue quickly before people start losing faith in this 'Paid service'. If I'm going to pay for something it better be of some value..... They can't update what they don't know though.

In the letter Sfz95 (Think it was him :P) posted, Nintendo said they didn't have an exact release date, and it's still in development.

If Nintendo gave an update with a release date, there is a big chance they could miss that release date as well.

Just be patient.

Hopefully we won't get an update. Hopefully Flipnote arrives on a hot christmas morn.

You can still upload flipnotes, your friends can still see them, the only difference from the friends gallery being that Nintendo can actually moderate what you upload.

Regarding Swapnote:

1) Nintendo should of taken away photo sharing.
2) Should of added a report button.
3) Should of added an age system similar to Face Raiders.

That must be too much work for Nintendo.

Well, that's Nintendo now. They have started having problems as soon as the incorporated online features in their devices. They also probably won't talk about it because the reason is probably really stupid for delaying.

I think Nintendo should drop out of the console race.

They are dominating the handhelds, stick with that and let MSoft and Sony fight it out.

It could come later this month either with or after the update.

I could see NNIDs playing a role in Flipnote.

Nintendo recently opened a competition in Japan for Flipnote Studio 3D!

That's right! They care more about their Japanese customers having fun and making Flipnotes more than releasing the thing worldwide.

I've realized something... it's time to let go. Theres plenty more titles to choose from, and there's more to come. I honestly can't be complaining about this ONE thing I didn't get. Time to move on! I hope you all stop torturing yourself over this, just as I have.
