Pokemon Rumble U will be releasing in August 15th (EU) and August 29th (NA) on the Nintendo eshop for $18.

The game will feature NFC connectivity with the use of figures similar to Skylanders. The game will launch with 18 figures and they will be exclusively available at Gamestop for $4 each. Figures are not required to play the game.


$18 isn't too expensive. Might be worth a buy.

According to Serebii, "These Pok?mon are not exclusive to the figures, being able to be obtained within the game, but the figures will provide a stronger form of the Pok?mon", so even then we don't really need the figurines unless you really want that boost of strength(which you probably don't need because the past games have been really easy).

False information much?

There have been multiple waves of figures (I think 3 waves at 6 figures each). No new waves have been announced. How does that means 649 figures will release in the lifetime of the game? It doesn't.

I thought the game would be $15 instead of a straight conversion. The fact that they converted the game from 1800 yen to $18 but the figures went up in price is an outrage. I may get the game, but if I ever get a figure, it will just be one.
