Default Upgrading from 3DS to XL?

Is it worth it? Or is it an oversized 3DS?

It has a better 3D effect and some cosmetic changes, but I don't think it's worth converting to XL, because it really is just an oversized 3DS. The thing is though, as the screen is bigger, some things tend to look better on it, but that factor could also apply to the "it's an oversized 3DS" description.

Definitely worth it IMO. The day the XL came out, I bought it and immediately transferred my content onto it. Then sold the old one as fast as I could.

I beg to differ. The effect is stronger, yes, but the sweetspot is atrocious.

I think it's worth it as well. In addition to the bigger screens, the XL is also more comfortable to hold, IMO.

Totally worth it. They fixed everything, even little things like the stylus is now on the right side, easier to take out, than having to look for it on the back, and the start/home/select buttons are actually buttons, as opposed to the OG 3DS. I have the Blue/Black i love it. The battery is waayy longer than the OG 3DS, and for added bonus, the colors look much more vivid on the XL, imo. If you have the money for it, go for it, you won't regret it.

if you're that on the fence about it i'd recommend trying out a friends with some of your own personal games for a little while and seeing how you like it compared to your own. personally, it isn't for me, but a lot of people seem to really enjoy theirs.

Oh yes, you get an EXTRA HALF-HOUR of battery life! Nothing against the XL, but come on, half an hour isn't "waayy longer battery"

I didn't have problems with the sweetspot myself, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Is that marking problem still present? You know, the touch screen frame kept marking the top screen. Very annoying.

Also, can I get it in the glossy blue colour the normal 3DS came as?

Nope, the screens don't touch each other on the 3DS XL

The 3DS XL's are matted, as opposed to glossy on the 3DS, so the blue looks like this (comparison):http://img1.lesnumeriques.com/test/7...XL_3DS_Top.jpg

I was thinking the same thing. Probably will and give my old one to younger brother for some MH3U action

I ask you, would you upgrade from a psp 1000 to a psp 3000? I wouldn't, it's better in some ways but not worth the $200. Also, I warn you, they say the 3ds and XL have the same resolution (true), but they have the same aspect ratio as well. Thus to avoid making rectangular pixels there are black bars between the lines of pixels horizontally that are extremely noticeable if you hold a 3ds and xl side by side in the same game. Maybe it's just mine but it looks awful in that regard.

the 3dsxl is for people that cannot really see that well.
and from what i saw the 3ds is more small than the ds lite and i have some big hands.the 3dsxl is more comfortable than the 3ds
im telling ya almost every time i played the 3ds my hands would be sore.

I wouldn't bother. I own an XL and the 3D is very difficult to focus, or at least in my opinion. Although it is very nice to play games on a larger, more spacious system for hands, etc., it's really just an over-sized 3DS. Also, some games have more prominent pixels. Such as New Super Mario Bros. 2. Not that I'm saying it's a bad system, I would just recommend that you stick with your original. It's really not worth upgrading, unless you have fairly large hands. lol
