Default How do I move SD card files onto my computer safely?

Title says it all. Was going to upgrade to a 16 gb sd card and wanted to know how I can move the files on my computer. Like where do o insert the SD card? Do I need to buy something?

If you have a modern CPU, you'll have either USB slots, or SDcard slots. If no SDcard slots, fear not, there are SD converters which you can plug into the USB (dual SD slots are a little more convenient, as you can just copy and paste the files from the old card to the other) Make sure you COPY the files (in case new one breaks down, you have backup). If only one slot in SDcard reader, copy all the stuff from the old sdcard, and put it in a new folder on the desktop, then take the old sdcard out and put in the new one

This works on windows
really basic stuff
