Default mega pokemon, op or not

so i think that maybe mega pokes are just to op, i mean mega mewtwo, mega lucario even mega blaziken(if blaziken alone werent opd enough)...
i do hope smogon makes a rule that u cant use mega pokemons in competitive battle, buts only a hope

ok so the question is: ?do u like mega pokemon? ?do u think mega pokemons are op? and ?what should be the next mega pokemon?

personalty i think:

While I do like some of the additions that X and Y have made, this is one of the ones I am not extremely fond of. Mega Pokemon don't add a lot to the game, they just make already exceptionally powerful Pokemon even more OP. Also, the effects don't last post-battle, and the Pokemon quickly revert back to their original forms. The Mega Stone also takes up an item slot, removing any additional strategy involving items, such as Leftovers.

However, I may be proven wrong. We have not seen Mega Pokemon in-game, other than the trailers, and we do not know what stat boosts and moves are given. For example, Mega Pokemon may gain a lot of one stat, while losing a lot of another. They may gain different typing, or entirely different movesets. Things that may seem like they boost the Pokemon's power may end up as strategic limitations.

In short, while I do not generally like the idea, and have a feeling that they will end up being OP, we should not look into this until we are given further details on how it will affect certain attributes of gameplay and the Pokemon themselves.

Mega Pokemon will probably be OU or Uber, with the majority in OU. Lack of an item slot is a pretty big disadvantage, and I doubt mega evolutions will ever have base stats higher than what choice items would give. I just hope the mega-evo Scizor rumor is true.

If you don't like Mega Pokemon blame Eviolite, Thanks to Eviolite Gamefreak is afraid of adding evolutions because they might end up creating a super tank.

^ Wanted to get that out somewhere

More on topic, I like Megas, I think mega pokemon with vary in tier. For example Mega Blazekin might be Uber whereas Mega Absol could be UU.

UU with an ability that reflects any status moves, including the most used taunt, and entry hazards? Hardly. It's why Espeon went from neverused to overused. XD Absol will definitely have a niche in competitive play.

I was just using Absol as a random example never said he would be in UU. The only mega as of now I believe could truly be UU is Mega Ampharos depending on what dragon moves they add to his movepool. (if any)

Agreed. Well, he seems to be an inferior zekrom, so we will see how it fares. Stat wise, it may not be good

yes thats true i havent even think of the strategy limitations. and u have a point in waiting untill the official release but still we have some information on their tipping and some other information they give in corocoro. and it seems that more of the where just boosted in more than getting worst. and in competitive play if u know ull use a megastone to have mega pokemon you must make an strategy formed based in the megapokemon not the actual pokemon including new weaknesses and even the use of thief or embargo
