Ok this is my first forum post so please dont call me a noob or say im posting on the wrong forum. So ok i am probly going to get the Aqua Blue 3DS but i need to know if it is distracting like with the 3D effect and all because the top is black but the bottom is lightish blue. So if you were at the preview and got to use a Blue 3DS please tell me if it was distracting or not as good effect as the black one. Thank you.

Well I wasnt at the newyork or amsterdam event but I was at nintendo world 2011 outside of Tokyo Japan and I had played both sku's. Too me they both had the same 3D effect nothing different at all between the two so there my input.

Since when is blue considered a female color? It's kinda the opposite, lol. Anyway, if it's girly or not is really only up to you to decide, however you'd never have to feel embarrassed about owning one, 'cause there will be millions of others with a blue one.

Yes I had many doubts about the colour too. At first I wanted the deep red or orange one, I was a little disappointed when I heard 2 colours will only be available so I chosen for the Aqua Blue one. When I buy handhelds/consoles/computers, they're always black. Looking for something different now hehe

The main reason i`m getting black is for one, I like it, but another thing is I have a tradition that I get the color that Nintendo doesn't promote as much like with the DSIXL I got Maroon because Nintendo promoted Bronze.

im getting blue and i have no regrets! black just seems to plain and no the blue is not girly!!! millions of people will get blue over black because they want color! haha and welcome to team Aqua! :P

Blue is girly? Since when? lol. Most people actually associate blue with males, but I for one don't believe in genderizing colours. They're only colours, there's no reason to feel ashamed to like a particular colour.

I bought a kinda terquoize blue game boy color, not to different to the blue 3ds, and honestly i wish i hadnt, but its all pesonal taste really, i feel that the Black one is ultra cool, and if you had that sat on any snazzy glass coffe table it would look the shiznit! Think of the i pod when it first came out, all white i thought it was a bit boring, but in the end pure white is timeless as is all black.

Well if you look at the blue DSi (Very very bright) i thought the blue 3DS was like it. but i already reserved the Aqua Blue and i know its not now

I really don't know since when "bright/aqua blue" has become a "girly" colour -_- pink is for males then ? ...

im goin with the blue too the only thing i think you benefit from the black is the limitless accessories since its nuetral any color of wriststraps lanyard speakers styli will go with it and the charg stand too

I have a blue DS Phat, so I got a (manly) blue 3DS.

People just love having something to say about everything's appearance. If the launch colours were blue and purple, people would be saying the purple is is too feminine and the blue isn't.

What exactly is the finish of the 3DS? Is it like the DS Lite, where fingerprints show up on it easily, or is it more like the DSi, the matte finish? Depending on which one it is is really going to influence my decision on color

I actually heard something about the 3DS not keeping your fingerprints.

There was a thing on "Iwata asks" that talks about how they used a specific plastic that could be easily cleaned of fingerprints.

I wish I could get a good picture of the "Aqua Blue". I heard it is more teal in color than the promotional pictures suggest. Either way I decided on blue because I already have a black DSlite.

Don't worry about the color of your 3DS. Doesn't matter what color it is... it's going to have great games and that's all that matters.

I'm waiting for some Zelda-3DS... They did one for almost every handheld so far. A golden one packed with the Zelda Game of the system.

I got my DSlite just before they put out the Zelda one... Man I was pissed...

Besides, a yellow+black 3DS... Epic sauce.

well iwata had a blue one at the conference or was it red i do not now but i have a blue one coming

When I picked up the blue 3DS the first thing I did when I started playing the game that was handed to me was was forget about the bottom half completely. The screen, when your not battling ghosty images (when you are positioned right) kinda grabbed me into the game moreso than other consoles. Thats both good and bad, I found it an extra level of concentration, concentrating on making sure the screen isn't going blurry on you while playing. I'm sure that it'll be second nature over time tho.

The thing about the 3DS that I always notice right away whenever a see a picture of it closed is how the cameras and the headphone jack make a surprised smilie face. I can't help but see it every time! To me this is much more obvious with the blue. I love the color of the Aqua, but I think I couldn't help but laugh every time I went to pick it up and the little guy was looking surprised to see me. At least with Cosmo it's a little more subtle.

Aqua blue 3ds is saying: oohhh you want to play I WILL IMMERSE YOU INTO THE GAME *giggles*

Key features? The black one is black, while the blue model is blue.

At first I preordered the black one, cause I didn't like the fact of the blue one being 2 colors on the inside. But as I looked at the blue one more and more, I just thought it was beautiful.

Look at it this way: There had has been a black DS lite, DSi, DSiXL, and now we have a black 3DS. We haven't really ever had an aqua colored DS, so I find it to be much more unique.

So now I have an aqua one preordered.

The blue 3DS shows smudges on the exterior easier than the black this time round. The surface doesn't show defined fingerprints. Smudgy smudgy. I do find myself unsmudging smudges simply by wiping them with my own fingers tho. No super cloth required to keep it looking nice.

Yea but sometimes when your whipe the smudges with your fingers, the system ends up with a greasy look.

You should consider washing your hands before playing the 3DS if you have that happen XD

I'm germafobic so I do that all the time XD It's just natural to have oils on your skin that will show up on electronic items.

Meh, bring a micro-fibre cloth everywhere with you.

I do, I also bring a rocket air around as well so I can blast dust off before I use any cloth at all.

I tried it out at a powerrewards meetup for gamestop and it is not distracting at all. They made the screen border black for that reason I think.
