Default OH HAI!

Hello good people! Bit of an older gamer here at 27, born and raised in England (Tottenham & Fiorentina supporter to get the formalities out the way), now residing in the mystical land of red and white, where Polar Bears are the main method of transportation, known to some as Canadia.

Bought myself a 3DS probably a year ago now (cosmo black), purely down to nostalgia, when there was a bundle on sale, which included, "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time", still my favourite video game to date, which I was super fond of during the N64 days. Only other game I have is "Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance". Haven't really been using my 3DS a whole lot truth be told, thee old Xbox 360 seems to still occupy my time when it comes to gaming.

Pondering about possibly getting "Tales of Abyss" for 3DS, as I love Vesperia on the 360. Also have pre-ordered "Pokemon X", my first and only Pokemon game since the original Game Boy days, of owning Pokemon Blue. Perhaps it's just the hype that's caught me or whatever, but I thought... 'what the hell, why not!?' Will be winging it when playing.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, I've waffled too much, as usual. Apologies.

Ciao.

Thanks.

Haha, personally I think that's the best way to go about it. I have hardly no clue who, and what type the majority of the Pokemon are outside the original 150, so it'll be very much learn as you go for me. Any idea as to who you'll be starting off with?

As far as other games - 3DS related, Kingdom Hearts: DDD would be the only other one, as it's the only the game I have, other than Ocarina of Time, but will be looking into possibly getting Tales of Abyss, FIFA 14 (very mixed feelings on this one, will wait for a sale), Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (for sure purchase). Also believe there is a new Professor Layton game coming out, always been intrigued to buy one of those games. Love adventure type games.

Any recommendations?

Unrelated to 3DS, on the Xbox; Blops 2, Tomb Raider, Tales of Vesperia, seem to get the job done. Used to love FIFA being a football guy, but that franchise won't be hustling me anymore.

Thanks, and will do. It's only until yesterday I heard of this friend code business, had no idea it even existed, shows much reading of the manual I did when I bought 3DS.

Yeah, I'm stoked too, should be great!

Thanks, a fellow Street Fighter enthusiast? Loving the gif, I myself prefer Ken's take, with the Shinryuken.

Yeah, I think so, too. It might be a little difficult being around a bunch of experienced friends, though... Practically all my gaming friends eat Pokemon for breakfast, so that should be fun rofl
I don't even know all of the original 150 OTLL
I'll be starting with Froakie and either Bulbasaur or Charmander... Need to decide soon x___x

As for recommendations... Though you seem to like more action/adventure style games I can't recommend Fire Emblem Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV enough. Both have top-notch presentation and offer up a good challenge.

I've only just gotten into Monster Hunter but that might be worth a look, too; my impression so far is that it is literally a hunting and gathering game lol It's entertaining, though, especially when you finally manage to take down your mark! It has action-based combat that requires you to be deliberate with your attacks~

Definitely give Tales of Abyss a shot; I hear the port's pretty decent and has reduced load times compared to the original. One of my friends bought it for 3DS and has played through it at least 3 times already.

I could probably go on |''D; can't think of many other adventure games atm tho

For me it's the other way around. Know who I want out of the original 3 (SQUIRTLE!), however up in the air when it comes to either Chespin, or Fennekin.

Thanks for those, checked them both out, and must say, Fire Emblem out of the 2 caught me eye, especially the presentation of the game, on a portable console - dayum! As far as JRPG's go, would love it if they ported Ni No Nuki for 3DS, know they made it a while back for DS, but, yeah, no thanks. Haha.
