Default Once Upon a Time

I searched for this topic, and nothing similar came up... Weird, isn't this supposed to be a popular TV show? Well, regardless...

Basic premise: what if Disney's Enchanted wasn't played for laughs? More in-depth, basically, the evil queen from Snow White casts a powerful curse that results in all of fairy tale land or whatever it's called to be stuck in time, and for all the characters to forget who they truly are. The only one not affected by this is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, who was predicted by Rumpelstiltskin to save them all by her 28th birthday in an epic battle, so they had Geppetto build a wardrobe out of an enchanted tree that will protect whoever goes into it from hard and transport the occupant somewhere safe. As it turns out, Snow & Prince's baby is born on the same day the evil queen's curse sets upon them, and Prince manages to send the newborn child through just in time, seemingly at the cost of his life...

Meanwhile, this woman named Emma meets a 10-year-old boy named Henry on her birthday, who claims to be her son. She takes him back to his home in Storybrooke, where he says his adopted mother is "evil". Needless to say, she finds out something strange about the town, and grows an attachment to the boy, particularly after seeing just what kind of person his adopted mother, who's also the mayor of the town, truly is. Oh, and she has the ability to tell if someone's lying or not...

At least that's what I got out of it. I just saw the first episode with my sister, and I really liked it! Of course, I'm in the middle of watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, so I'm not sure just how much of my time I can dedicate to either show, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what the rest of the show's like! My sister was just a little more confused about the goings-on in the pilot episode, particularly Henry; she wondered how could he grow up if time stopped in the town. I hazard a guess that, because he was not truly born in this town, he wasn't affected or something. I also added that, since you're dealing with fairy tales, you're going to have to play loose with logic here.

There's also a new spin-off called "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" which I'm also curious to see, but I'll wait until I've caught up with this series first, same with Avatar and The Legend of Korra. So who else has seen this?

Aha! Now this show... I love!

Been watching Once Upon a Time since it started, can't get enough of it. Big fan of books which retell fairytales, but in an adult format, with different twists, and this is exactly that, in picture format.

It's amazing how a lot of the characters we've grown up with as children, through Disney, etc... that you come across in this show, don't come off as we remember them, some in fact play villains as you'll see. You should stick with it.

As for Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, caught the Pilot episode last week, really wasn't impressed at all, shan't be watching it again.

That's the reason I love this show. All the Disney movies I watched growing up, they changed them slightly or drastically and makes you see them if they played out in a human enchanting life. It's crazy that Pan is the bad guy in this season because I wouldn't have seen that happening.

The reason I gave this show a chance since the very beginning is since it's from a couple of the writers of LOST and I loved that show.

Wonderland spin off, I wish they would have never killed off Jefferson so he could have played the Mad Hatter. Unless this show takes place way before hand which I haven't noticed at all yet.

I actually like "Once upon a time in Wonderland" a ton more than the original. Though, that could just be because I like Aladdin the most and the story has Genie and Jaffar so far.
