I tried using the pokeradar, but I can't get it to even turn on in these games, but in DPPT, it was random, I always saved before walking into skaking grass

I remember in DPP the biggest hint I used was to avoid patches of grass on the edge.

You cannot use the circle pad when using the radar. If you have skates on beforehand, it won't work. Also, if you try to move to the shaking grass with the skates, it will cancel the radar.

Does anyone know if chaining Pokemon will still result in shinies being easier to find?

I think so, there are some videos on youtube of people chaining and finding shiny patches in x and y. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nLvsV99Sqw

I tried to do it on Route 10.

I wanted that shiny Eevee, but I couldn't do it. Stupid boulders.
