3DSF ~ Pokemon XY Tournament
With the release of new EV training and breeding mechanics in X and Y, it seems like many members are experimenting with competitive battling for the first time. This tournament should help introduce people to the metagame and accustom old battlers to the technical changes made this generation.
Battles will be 6v6 singles. General rules include:

6th gen legendaries and 5th gen Ubers (http://www.smogon.com/bw/tiers/uber) except for Blaziken and Excadrill are not allowed. Everything else goes. Matches in the first round of the tournament can be done whenever the two participants are ready. I haven't decided on a deadline for the first round but I definitely want to give at least a few weeks for people to make teams. Make sure you save your battles with the VS Recorder. Hopefully we can get someone to capture and upload the best videos to YouTube, and maybe even have the participants add commentary to their video. Post here if you're interested in joining. Include your time zone so I can match people up more conveniently. The first 16 people to post will be in the tournament for sure, but with enough people we can have 32 participants. EDIT: The starting date for the tournament is November 15. EDIT: The tournament will be double elimination, which means you have to lose twice to be eliminated. Here's the first round:

I'd participate, my timezone is EST. I just spent forever after I got to the daycare place trying to get a decent team (37 hours in, still don't have 2nd gym badge haha). It's probably not great, but at least I did all the supertraining while they were level 1. Completely new to pokemon PvP, first game since Crystal and it definitely wasn't as easy to find opponents back then.
 I am certain I'll be ready within a few weeks. |

Yeah I've been super training my Mawile all day. Not because it's hard but it just bores me. I super trained my larvesta last night. Hopefully I can get snorlax done tomorrow. I hope all of this is worth it

I'll answer everyone's questions in this post.
The first round will last from November 15 to November 18. Coordinate a time to battle with your opponent. I matched people by time zone so it should be easy to find a time that works for you and your opponent. Let me know if your opponent doesn't respond so I can replace them with skylar2010. After that you'll automatically win if your opponent doesn't show. If you think your opponent broke any of the rules, save the battle video, upload it online and send me the code. Rule breakers will be disqualified. You can switch your team at any point in the tournament. |

If you lose a match in the current bracket you'll be moved into another bracket, typically called the loser's bracket, and continue to compete until you either reach the final or lose again. After your loss in the loser's bracket you're out of the tournament.

Well I just won my match against Chao, but sadly there's no battle vid because there was a D/c right as the battle ended (Chao quit, perhaps?)

whats the settings for the matches?
2 player, single battle, normal rules and handicap off? well me v aussie match is done, im a terrible competitive trainer, lol oh well 1st go at competitive battling, and i was in for fun so i dont mind xD at least im a good trainer in my own little pokemon world :3
