Default Team Advice: 6th Pokemon?

Hey guys,

I currently have 5 Pokemon I like A LOT and plan on using down the road, but I need to find a 6th. I will list my team and any advice on what type of Pokemon to add into my 6th spot would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Coltplay's Team:

1. Blastoise
2. Garchomp
3. Ferrothorn
4. Sylveon
5. Raichu
6. ???

Help me!

What do you intend to use this team for?

Online competitive? In-game strictly?

If the former, it's best to add more details such as movesets and roles within the team. If the later, just pick one of your favorites.

In that case, first I would scrap raichu, it is not too viable because of being very fragile. You would be better off with galvantula for a competetive electric type.

Yup Top Tier electric types at the moment would be Galvantula, Jolteon, and maybe Heliolisk.

I also suggest replacing Blastoise too... His mega and regular form are outclassed by others.

But I can't really suggest a 6th until I know the purpose of the team. Do you want to just have Garchomp sweep everything? Stall?

We can't be suggesting Pokemon until the OP has some idea of what this team is going to do (in terms of its synergy and mode of offense).

Just because some Electric type Pokemon are potential candidates for the OU metagame, doesn't mean the OP should use them.

Better advice would be for the OP to pick one favorite Pokemon, and build a team around that Pokemon. Standard offense teams are generally a good starting point since it's mostly about choosing Pokemon who can resist hits upon switching in while dealing lots of damage while in play.

Chandelure is a good teammate for Ferrothorn. Switches in for no damage from Ferro's two weaknesses, Fire and Fighting. And trust me, when you have a bulky Ferro which can't be Leech Seeded, Spored, Toxic'd, etc., people will try to exploit those weaknesses, so use them to your advantage.

If you're going to keep Blastoise then it should run Rapid Spin. Blastoise is bulky and Water is a good defensive type so you can always switch in and Rapid Spin when you need to. Scald is pretty useful for spreading burns while being somewhat powerful with STAB.

I have made some slight changes to my team so please let me know what you think!

1. Blastoise
2. Ferrothorn
3. Salamance
4. Aurorus
5. Sylveon
6. Gengar

Is there a certain order I should use them in?

Thanks for any help guys!

Added after 3 minutes:

And what should I swap for Blastoise, I'm not going to use Garchomp because I already have dragon with Salamance... Is Raichu viable for damage?

Added after 2 minutes:

I really like Blastoise though... =(

Added after 1 42 minutes:

My team!
