Default Team Building (semi competitive)

Atm im just breeding what i find interesting since i have a lot of EVed pokemon just waiting for the bank to open. Eitherway im attempting to build a semi competitive team with what i have and open to suggestions on what to add to it or change. Competitive in the sense that it can do decently against random people, but not for tournaments or anything, so im not paying attention to soon to be Tiers, also i dont want legendaries in my team.

Also some i dont remember the exact EV spread.

Chesnaught @ Leftovers
Impish/Bullet Proof
252 Hp 200ish Def 58ish Atk
-Seed Bomb
-Spiky Shield
-Leech Seed
-Hammer Arm

Greninja @ Expert Belt
Adamant/Protean
252 Spe 252 Atk 4 Hp
-Rock Slide
-Shadow Sneak
-Night Slash
-Waterfall

Charizard @ ite Y
Timid/Blaze-> Drought
252 SpA 252 Spe 4 Hp
-Heat Wave
-Solar Beam
-Air Slash
-Dragon Pulse

Heracross @ ite
Adamant/Swarm->Skill Link
252 Hp 252 Atk 4 Def
-Close Combat
-Pin Missile
-Rock Blast
-Feint

Magnezone @ Magnet (atm idk what to use on it)
Timid/Sturdy (Though might change it to magnet pull to trap skarmory)
252 Hp 252 SpA 4 Spe
-Thunderbolt
-Flash Cannon
-Thunder Wave
-Metal Sound
(Not sure what moves to give it atm.)

Heliolisk @ Life Orb/Focus Sash
Timid/Sand Veil (Will change to dry skin when i get Politoed back)
252 Spe 252 SpA 4 Hp
-Volt Switch
-Parabolic Charge
-Surf
-Thunderwave
Moves are in flux atm. Not sure what i want it to do yet, so many possibilities.

Beedrill @ Focus Sash
Jolly/Swarm
252 Spe 252 Atk 4 Hp
-Toxic Spikes
-Endeavor
-Protect
-Poison Jab
Made for fun mostly.

My current singles team consists of Greninja (Lead), Charizard/Heracross(Mega), and Magnezone/Chesnaught (Third).

Doubles usually are Greninja and Charizard in the front. With Heracross/Chesnaught and Magnezone in the back.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Why do you have two potential Megas? Drop one and give it a different item.

The idea of "semi competitive" also doesn't register well with me. There should be no in betweens, and this isn't exactly a gimmick team either.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, team preview still exists, so dedicated leads can always simply be countered if your opponent chooses to lead with the counter.

I would replace Beedrill and Charizard. There is a reason Bedrill evolves early (weak), and Charizard is so popular, that it is to be expected, and you can easily make an anti Charizard stategy (stealth rock), and he... he is not that good. But, if they work for you... then use them! Just because you play differently does not mean you are playing "the wrong way"!

Yes team preview exists. Which is exactly why i have 2 Megas in my battle team. So i can choose to use the one that would suit the battle the best. If there are too many rock/water types i would use heracross. If its alot of pokemon that have access to flying typemoves then i use charizard.

Also mega charizard isnt too bad. With Drought and access to heatwave, solar beam, dragon pulse, and air slash (currently unsure about this last move, but its a good neutral damage), its pretty good for coverage and hits really hard.

And no im not a huge fan of Charizard to begin with, its just something i ended up training and its pretty helpful in this new Fairy/dragon driven meta in my area. The guy i end up playing against the most runs Mega Mawile, it resists both of its stabs and does super effective damage. So its of great help. Its also a special attacker that can take a hit pretty well when it is in mega.

Im also thinking of breeding either a calm mind Gardevoir or a sweeping Mega Gardevoir. Since Pixilate just seems like a funny move when combine with Hyper Beam, with 195 BP + Stab.

You have to keep in mind that im just breeding stuff that i dont already have. Since i have about 1 and a half box of EVed pokemon on my Black 2 cart. So all these Mega evolutions will eventually have their own teams.

Beedrill on the other hand was really just for fun. I know its completely terrible, but i bred and trained it so i included it. I was just hoping the 10 more base attack actually helped. And no it did not. lol. I'm generally use bug pokemon and i already have most if not all the bug i find competitive already. Even some that aren't *cough* masquerain*cough*. I have 3 Heracross now, though i do find the mega quite useful at times, the other 2 are a Rest talker and Choice band set. I cant make a new Scizor, because of the lack of Bug Bite, so no mega scizor yet.

The lack of new bug pokemon really left me with nothing new to train, so i went with something that i liked the design and never bred because its so bad.

The main issue is that both potential Megas have movesets that work for the Mega evolution. If you Mega evolve Charizard. then your Heracross is stuck with moves that don't work well with it (aside from Close Combat). Charizard works a little better since Solarbeam is the only move crippling it assuming it doesn't Mega evolve.

Plus, that type of strategy is very situational. It only works against opponents who actually make half of their team a certain type. Like little kids who only use Dragon types.

Regardless of what you think about having duel mega's in a 6 set of pokemon. This sort of discussion is really going to go no where since you are not really suggesting anything aside from taking stuff out. You could always suggest stuff to be added to the team in replacement of something you think doesn't work rather than just stating its bad in your opinion.

Fine. You may want to get a tank, I would suggest Aggaron or Blissey, also you may want a status inflicter/dream eater, like Gengar, who can also dish out damage quite readily. This is just my non expert opinion, so don't blame me if they are terrible together

I'm thinking of bringing Togekiss/Magnezone/Heracross/Charizard/Greninja and something else for a tournament in a week or so. As of right now i know one team is going to have gyarados, crobat in their team so magnezone is going to be needed. Also another team is going to use gengar, mawile, and possibly goodra, so i probably need Charizard for mawile, not sure what to use against gengar since it will be focus sash with hypnosis. Thinking of using togekiss since it can eat special attacks and isnt weak to anything his Gengar will use since his doesnt carry poison moves. Though one of my pokemon can break its focus sash in some way, greninja can OHKO it with shadow sneak. Its sad that im tempted to run a Sand stormer just for focus sash.
