Default 3DS online play and satellite internet

I was looking at some games for the 3DS that had multi player online capabilities and saw two that caught my interest. Animal crossing new leaf and Heros of ruin.

I just didn't know if they would work properly, at least without taking forever because I have hughes net which is internet via sateliite. I know a lot of online games are imosible like Quake because of the ping rate and latency. Ive tried playing a few online and it was so bad I had to quit. Or else someone would kill me.

I just did a ping test and it was 654 ms. (I know that is really, really, really bad)

I just wasn't sure if it was that bad for the 3DS. I wouldn't think animal crossing would be as bad, but I don't know. Does anyone with satellite internet play these games or others on a 3DS? Or would anyone know if it was doable.

Any non competitive online game will have no issues. Maybe games like Mario Kart 7 would give you issues but Animal crossing is fine.

Thanks. I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff. I really wish there was another option where I live as I would enjoy Mario kart with others online, but I'm stuck with hughes net.

No issues with AC with that kind of ping.
But when it comes to MK7, you better find a fast connection.
Your main problem would be a laggy online race.
