Default Ace Attorney 123: Wright Selection (JAPAN)

Ace Attorney 1-3 to be released for 3DS on April 17th. (Link is in Japanese.)

Pray for a physical US/EURO release.

I've been waiting so long for this.

Right after I buy the first 3 games on ds
God, why do you forsake me? Is it because I fail to find contradictions?
Good news all around though, I will definitely pick this up if not for the fact that I haven't gotten to the other 2 games and I like 3d effect.

I'd consider buying this, but if it has the same artwork as the iOS port... *cringe*

I'm pretty sure it's just the DS versions of the games with some 3D effects.

YES! Can't find the first two games anywhere and I've waited so long to get to play them.
But with news like these, oh god yes please.

Cool, JP version has English and the chances of a US physical version are slim, so I suppose I will import this!

Trailer for those who haven't seen it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPmZlk7oOOM

It has the iOS version graphics....*sigh*. At the very least I'll be able to have the trilogy, Dual Destinies and the crossover with Layton all in the same system, assuming this comes outside Japan, that is.

What is wrong with the iOS version's graphics, may I ask?

As for me, I already have the first 2 on iOS, but may be tempted if Capcom gives a localised physical release.

For me:

I'm not sure how to describe it, they just really look out of place. There's just something about the outlines, coloring, and eyes that makes all the characters look too much like official artwork. While it looks nice when the characters are static, it doesn't look right when the characters are animating in this new style. It doesn't feel as fluid as the sprite counter-parts -- even blinking looks off.

Or maybe it's the other way around. Maybe the art style is too good for the standard animations. They should have added a few more frames so they feel a bit more fluid.

On trilogy release:
I wish they would have included an HD remake of Apollo Justice. They could have at least put it in there to expand on "Rise from the Ashes'" investigative features. If Capcom was going to pretend his game didn't exist, they shouldn't have included him in Dual Destinies, or bring up Phoenix's disbarment several times in the plot...

They have missing frames of animations in pretty much EVERYTHING (talking, finger-pointing, etc) some of them were remade poorly/incorrectly, like that animation where Phoenix "slaps" a piece of paper. In the iOS version, Phoenix isn't even looking at the paper and has a blank expression on his face, while in the original, he had a cocky look on his face and was looking at it the entire time. There's also the fact that in the iOS version, the characters barely blink.

I also don't like how the sprites look in "HD". They look a bit awkward to me, specially Phoenix and Maya.

Maybe they could re-release Apollo with Edgeworth 1 and 2 so we can finally get Gyakuten Kenji 2/Miles Edgeworth 2 outside of Japan?

Thanks sonic260, and DarkK for your responses. I did play the original port of the 1st PW game on iOS nearly 3 years ago and I guess I forgot how much more animated that untampered version was compared to the HD "remastered" versions. If the 3DS preserves the original animations in this collection, I might be more inclined to get this game (assuming its localised and available on cartridge or at least individually released on the eShop so I can just buy the the 3rd game-- the only game in this series that I have yet to play).

Ugh. That does sound pretty bad and lazy on Capcom's part

Here's some screenshots for comparison:

Let's hope the animations are as smooth as the DS version as well.

Do we know for a fact that the 3DS versions will also have reduced frames when it comes to character animations?

Basically, here:

Look at Ema's blinking animation in the bottom right corner here

Now compare it to this

There's your answer.

Despite it will probably have the bad animation and ****, I think I will get it anyway if it gets an physical release.
And HOPEFULLY, if it's successful, they will release GK2 and re-release AA5 in physical forms.

Here is some gameplay footage of the trilogy. I'll be surprised if this does not even get an eShop release, given that the Japanese version has an option to play in English.

Well, at least I was correct with my prediction. That said, it is too bad it is only getting an eShop release. It would be nice if they let you buy individual instalments of the original trilogy
