Default Eshop account login details after system transfer

Hey guys!

Sorry to bugger you with questions so soon after joining the forums but...
I have an issue which, even after doing an extensive search, I don't really have gotten a clear answer to...

I have bought a 3DS with ambassador certificate and would like to transfer the certificate and with it the "right" to download all the 20 games to another, new, system. So I have a new 2DS which have a Nintendo Network ID that is registered in my name. The old system obviously have an Network ID which is registered in another name. I now want to have the ambassador status on my new 2DS and be able to use the eshop (I want to know the password for the ID etc). I read this thread: http://3dsforums.com/showthread.php?...ystem+transfer where it is said that it is possible to first do a system transfer from one system to the ambassador system and, after 7 days, do one more transfer to the old system and in this way have the accounts merged and have ambassador status on the new system. If I do like this will I have my own account active or the original owner of the ambassador 3DS's account? I did not find any clear answer to what happens with the login for Nintendo Network ID and it would be great to know before I attempt any transfer.

Thanks in advance for any answer!

after the transfer the ambassador account would be your nnid account on your 2ds, because the ambassador titles are registered under the ambassador NNID and you cant transfer just software, you transfer everything (friend code, mii, eshop downloads, streetpass stuff)
everything on your original 3ds should also be reset, transferring everything to your 2ds

i dont think i understood that properly (re-reading my answer im not even understanding what i wrote), but i think that should help, i havent transferred myself so i might be slightly wrong, but your original 3ds nnid would become your 2ds' nnid

Thanks for your quick reply.
Hm, but the scenario you describe is if I do a system transfer from system A (with ambassador cerificate) to system B, right? Then the account will be the nnid on system A?
But if I do a transfer first from system B to system A (having the eshop accounts merge) and then a transfer again from system A to B, will I have my own nnid on system B? With all the login details set as I did them originally on system B.

And in the process have ambassador certificate on system B?

are you going from a > b > a?
once you transfer from one to the other, everything on the previous system gets reset, and you cant have 2 nnids on the same system
since your ambassador titles are registered under A, whichever system has the ambassador titles on should also have A's nnid, and whichever is b should be blank

nnid has made everything more confusing, i think i understood it before nnid was introduced, before nnids were i think eshop accounts merged, but now with nnids everything is registered under one username
i havent transferred anything myself so i think this is how it works, im not sure if anything gets merged

edit2: ive asked on my local streetpass group if they know

I am going from B->A->B (where A holds the ambassador title and B has my nnid).
Yes I understand the resetting part and according to other threads it is possible to merge the eshop accounts, having all downloads on one merge with the other.

The thing is I wonder which user name is used after a system transfer :-/ If I do B->A->B i guess I should have nnid of B but since the accounts merged also have ambassador on B? This is confusing...

from nintendo uk's site theres this http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Support/Ni...Ds-841675.html
Quote:
you can transfer this to a new system (known as the "target" system) along with the usage rights to data saved on your SD card, Nintendo DSiWare, your Nintendo eShop user history and balance, any save data from software pre-installed on the system, and Nintendo DS software settings.
you could email nintendo

Thanks for the link, sadly this doesn't specify which account is being used in the target system if the two systems have different names registerd on their nnid.

Yeah, maybe I'll send a mail to nintendo...logically it should be possible to do a B->A->B and have my account on B...

Thanks for your help.

I'll post here if I get any good answer from Nintendo.

Added after 22 minutes:

But generally, after a system transfer between systems with different names registered to their NNID, which NNID login is used? The target or source login?

If someone who have done the transfer where you did not originally own both systems could answer that would be great!

B > A > B

the ambassador system will get deleted, they wont merge.

Indeed you are right. If however, the target system (with ambassador) does not have NNID then the systems will merge even if the source has NNID. I did this yesterday myself and I now have my NNID with the ambassador games combined with my eshop downloads.

sweet of you man!!

so is it safe to say these conclusions? (you're on sitch 2)

1. source has NNID, target has NNID...target system is deleted
2. source has NNID, target has no NNID...target system merges with source system
3. source has no NNID, target has NNID...target system merges with source system
4. source has no NNID, target has no NNID...target system is deleted

i figured there will be four situations with these NNID-thingy.
of only NNID was not proposed, it would've been much easier huh?

I am sorry for a really late answer dcv1979, I totally forgot to answer you!

I would say that the scenario 1 and 2 is correct.

As for scenario 3, I think that if the source has no NNID but the target has then the source would get transfered to the target system and nothing would be merged. The target's NNID would be unlinked but not deleted. So could potentially be linked agan with the same console.

For scenario 4, in this case if none of the system has NNID then the eshop and founds would merge with the source's save files and miis and stuff. The "usual" situation.

I hope this answers your question.
Yeah, the benefits of NNID is not that great...
