Default 128GB SD Card for $60 (US, Newegg)

Just passing along a good deal on a SD card for those of you digital buyers out there. Just format this thing to FAT32 and it should work in your 3DS.

Edit: Appears to be out of stock as of 3/31/2014.

I'd say it's a pretty good deal considering the size.

Wow. I remember back 10+ years ago when I was using the 3.5MB floppy disks to transfer things between my computer and my parents' computer, when suddenly my dad showed up with his amazing new USB memory stick capable of storing a whopping 128mb.

Now we have this tiny, tiny flat thing capable of storing a thousand times more data.

Waaaat.

The wonders of technology.

Thanks for the tip, I might get it.

Well, I have a 32GB that's currently out of space. I buy a lot of digital. I was just going to get a 64GB one, but the price difference between that and the 128GB one is $20. So $20 more for double the space.

That's a great deal, especially considering the 32 GB Vita memory card is around the same price.

I have a 32 GB (with 22 GB left) and I still have enough games to be able to download 20+ full retail games!

I can't even imagine how many full-retail downloadable games you can download on a 128 GB!

Last time I checked, you need over 690,000 blocks just to fit every single game currently available on eShop (digital-retail/indies/VC). Not counting the blocks required for other stuff or to add new games that may come our way.

If you were to do that, neither a 32GB card or a 64GB card would cut the mustard.

You would need a 128GB card for that.

Clever, I had to think back to all the games but I recall now that there is a guy in all the games which I have played who says that.

128GB is a bit overkill in my eyes for a 3DS. If (as I'm not entirely sure) the Wii U has an SD card slot like the Wii did, I would say it's a better investment for that. I don't recall when, but I did read an article a while back that stated we have the capabilities to produce up to about a 2tb sd card, but it would be so expensive to make that literally nobody would buy one. (+Who in the right mind could ever need that much data on a SD card? 4K movies are fitting on blu-ray and that only holds up to around 50gb)

Maybe an evil corporation would need all that memory to *ahem* evolve something...

A 2TB SD card would be a dream for professional photographers and videographers. With the quality of pictures and videos continually getting better and better, so are the sizes of their files getting bigger and bigger. I'm not even professional, and my 60GB SD card in my Canon Rebel T3i doesn't last long at all. I have to dump it at least once a week. If I could have a 2TB SD card instead, that would be awesome!

I also think that 128GB SD for a 3DS isn't that insane. Some of the downloadable titles are 2GBs, and the heavy retail titles on the eShop can get up to 4GBs as well. If someone exclusively downloads their games, they could definitely fill up their 128GB card in a few years time. Maybe not plausible for you, but definitely can serve someone.

They can't fill a 128GB card yet with was is available on eShop.

Like I previously pointed out:
