Hi guys , I have seen many people talking that Miiverse is such a disappointment because it does not let you send or recieve messages to your registered friends and no requests either , so tell me what is the purpose of this app? Why nintendo won't forget about swapnote incident?
Can we chat with communities in Miiverse 3ds? just like Wii-U?

you can post screenshots of some games, you can use this to either show off high scores, or to ask for help in a level (not all games allow screenshots, pokemon xy doesnt let you)
theres a general feed section where you can see all posts from people your following (like twitter) and they can yeah/comment them like any other community

The biggest problem with Miiverse IMO is that it's entirely designed for kids and their moms. If you're a bit older, there's nothing for you. :-(

I have access to Miiverse, but I never use it.

I am 15 years old and I don't think I could use it then , well , the best way to communicate with 3ds friends is this forum , what do you think?

As we can minimize the game , so it can come helpful to talk with friend while playing online game with him.

Well, what I meant was that the Miiverse moderators are so strict and interpret almost everything as "offensive". Their guidelines and code of conduct is ENTIRELY made for kids and their moms, not for older gamers.

That's why I don't use Miiverse - which is a total shame. If they just fixed this (by, for example, having certain sections only for older gamers), I would return immediately.

The best thing would be to release a chat or messaging app for 3DS like swapnote, what do you think?

So what's wrong with the original 3DS keyboard?

Nothing. Nintendo has just failed to make an instant messenger with a keyboard. Swapnote was not an instant messanger, and did not have a keyboard. Everything had to be handwritten and you ran out of space to write very quickly.

After the Japanese pedohilia issue regarding Letter Box, I doubt Nintendo will try another service anytime soon.

They SERIOUSLY need to get their online infrastructure together.

PS Vita has messaging system and it is quit instant + useful , they care about likes and dislikes of people , taking care of little kids is not Nintendo's duty , they just rate it PG and now it is parent's duty to protect their children.

Imagine Twitter. Now, imagine Twitter, just game based. Now, imagine Twitter, that is game based, with really strict rules. You cannot swear. You cannot post links. You cannot exchange friend codes, and you can't post drawings of God of War because it "Breaks their code of conduct". Meaning, they aren't fans of anything Sony and Microsoft related.

The point of Miiverse? I dunno. But it sucks.

Everything breaks their code of conduct unless you're saying things like:

"I like this game"

or

"Everyone is so nice"

or

"I'll get you, Bowser!"

Unless you talk on a kid's level, the risk is high that at least one of your posts will get moderated.

Nintendo themselves says they want to create "a pleasent experience for everyone", but in reality that means "a pleasent experience for kids and their moms", excluding everyone else.

Nintendo really need to do something about that , no we have to do something about that , get a PS vita!

I haven't been banned on Miiverse... yet (it's only a matter of time until it actually happens) but about 90% of the warnings from admins I've received have honestly been over absolutely nothing/petty things.

I wish I could make written posts in the way I want (on an appropriate level of course) without making it sound like I'm some innocent, little 12-year-old kid.

I haven't been banned either, but several of my posts have been erased by the no-name admins. One of the posts contained the word "butt". Yes, that counted as a violation to the code of conduct.

But I also see many unaltered posts which slips through, so it seems it's partly luck if you get cought or not.

Good Nintendo Good , the word "Butt" could even kill a inoccent kid along with his mom , well done Nintendo , great job!

I once had a post deleted just because I used the word "damn" in it lol. There was nothing bad about the post itself.

Yesterday I received a warning for "posting spoilers" when all I did was help someone who was asking a question. Normally I'd use spoiler tags, but this wasn't anything major, it wasn't even spoiling anything to do with the plot or secrets.

IMO, Nintendo is like an overprotective parent - they have good intentions, but they do it all wrong.

Lol. I've been banned for two weeks because I continue to draw/talk about non-Nintendo games.

I guess that's why people call them kiddy. They're kiddy because they want to be kiddy.

They are targeting the youngins because Microsoft and Sony leave that gap wide open. Man. Even though I love Zelda, I've really been thinking about selling my 3DS to a friend and just buying a Vita.

Because, you know, with a Vita, you get more power, decent apps and less moderation.

100% agree with Adam3000 but just the PS vita's 4gb card is of 20$ which is required to play most games and the games are also too expensive + some are region locked like Killzone mercenary.

Yeah. Some Vita region lock, compared to all of the 3DS library being region locked.

Just if 3DS's browser was good , I would definately go for it.

The 3DS browser isn't so bad if you visit sites built around it (e.g 3DS Plaza) but it's pretty bad otherwise.

what are you using for the forums now? why dont you use that instead of the 3ds browser?

Some people like to use other features on their consoles/handhelds.

Like I said in my YouTube app review, if they are gonna include some application or feature that competes with other electronics, it better be able to hold it's own. There is no point for the 3DS to have a horrible browser. If that's the best they can do (Which I seriously doubt) they shouldn't have even released that.

One of my peeves with Nintendo.

I have seen a lot of people complaining about Vita's browser too , , they say that Vita's browser sucks ! One thread I saw was "3DS browser is wayyy better than vita's" , lolI just can't understand why ?? Vita's browser seems pretty good and fast.

Hardware wise, spec wise, app wise, in fact, every single little thing except games, the Vita is leagues ahead.

Games in vita are also cool I guess , Killzone Mercenary and Soul Sacrifice are just amazing with wonderful online multiplayer ! In fact I look forward to PS Vita , another thing that makes it superior is its OLED 5' screen.

The thing is that some love to go around being immature on Miiverse. Blaming Nintendo for not putting up with their inflammatory nonsense, constant trolling and child-like behavior. They are the problem, not Ninty.

See, the community has rules. Like any other community. If you ignore the rules, you go out the door with the rest of the trash.

Its that simple.

In regards to being able to speak freely there, you can. You just have to follow this rule:

THINK BEFORE YOU POST.

Imagine that the post that you're making public on Miiverse, is going to be read by someone you deeply respect. And if you go about doing that over there (or anywhere else), you will rarely run into trouble.

But if you have zero respect for other users and you are constantly trying to start arguments with them, calling them kiddy while acting like a child yourself, then get ready to spend some time in the 'penalty box'.

Now, I've seen people being able to speak their mind on Miiverse without getting into trouble. Such as the people who post stuff like this:

Its not a perfect community, though. You can always ask for more content and improvements.

In my case, its hard to remember that you're not at a site where certain words aren't allowed. And you get some messages deleted because of that slip. I mean, I won't say the F-word because I'm mad, but simply because I'm reacting to something and it will slip through. Anyway, I don't get all angry because they will delete that comment with the f-word in it. No big deal.

My biggest beef with Miiverse is that there isn't a community for some older 3DS games.

Miiverse is a Facebook for gamers, essentially. It was not mean't to replace Swapnote, if it was, it would be discontinued too. Miiverse is completely different from Swapnote other than the fact you can draw on it and it has access to the internet. Two different products. They aren't the same so don't compare them.

As for Miiverse's purpose, it has the same purpose as any other social media site. Go on it, say something nobody cares about, take a selfie (well, game-ie) post it with the world, forget about it. And also browse around and randomly like (yeah) posts. In other words, if that's your sort of thing, go ahead and use it, otherwise, just get an NNID and leave.

which ok, i understand

and thats one i dont get;
it's like in rap videos where they censor words like swimming...
