Default How do you check if a legendary is legit?

I've received a few legendaries via GTS and via Trade.

I was just wondering if there is an easy way of identifying the legitimacy of a rare pokemon?

(A friend traded me a Mew and victini, she has no idea if they were legit or not herself as she received them via Trade herself)

you can see if they know any moves that they shouldnt know
or in kiloude city theres a man that can check stats, if they have all perfect ivs then its probably fake

also if its an event pokemon sometimes they are in a cherish ball (the red pokeball) and that means its legit (i think anyway)

The easiest way is by comparing it to a list of events and making sure all the information is correct. At least until there is a third party tool that can automate these checks for you.

Though it really doesn't matter if they are legit or not. If they're good enough to pass Nintendo/GF's checks, and they have if they are in your generation six game, they're just fine for your use too.

Thanks for your replies, I'm leaning towards them being legit then (hard to believe) But they all seem to be in cherish balls and have the correct event (OT Trainer codes etc) info.

Woot!
