Default *SPOILERS* Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro [Movie] Thread

Saw the movie today with my friend, and I have to say I was impressed.

It got that right amount of comedy, action and romance and did the 'multiple villains' thing right (unlike Spiderman 3).

Electro is obviously the main villian, but the movie's subtitle should have been "Rise of Oscorp" since the reason for the events of the movie taking place was Oscorp.

The ending is really depressing though... Like seriously Peter got so unlucky and must hate gravity and Harry Osborn/Green Goblin. Oh and also at the ending is, what I think, the set-up for the 3rd movie.

Yep, I already expect Green Goblin in the 3rd movie.

I also liked the movie.

It was great. When Gwen fell and Spiderman caught her with the web, I wasn't sure if she hit the floor first and I was like "Did she hit hit the floor before he caught her?!". And then I didn't really believe she would die... After a bit of time in the scene though, if they revived her I would hate them because that's the worst way to try to get the audience to sympathize, it's a cliched.

As for the next movie, it'll definitely be with Green Goblin. And maybe, just maybe he'll die, except at the hands of Peter this time around, and not by accident...

I only know a little about the comics, but im a big spidey fan. I loved this movie (and the last one). I find myself craving more. Garfield is great as Peter Parrker. it was nice to see JJJ's acknowledgement. I really want the one from Sam Reimi's spiderman movies haha, but that's unlikely.

It was sad when Gwen died. if I hadnt accidentally stumbled upon reading an article that Gwen dies in the comics, I would have been shocked and startled a lot more. one thing I couldnt find myself enjoying was Paul Giamatti as Rhino. just so cringe worthy.

it was also really cool to see all the easter eggs or appearances of future characters like Black cat and the sinister 6. Did anyone else notice that in the credits, the graphics were outlining the sinister six? I thought that was cool.

I'm pretty sure that was the point of his character, so I wouldn't bash it for doing it's job.

I realize he was supposed to be like that but with it being Giamatti, I just couldn't handle it lol

There's no post-credits scene.

This kinda made me a little sad. I, along with a bunch of other hopeful viewers, were waiting for a post-credit scene. While the credits were going, the screen shifted to a random scene. Everyone thought it was a Spiderman post credits scene, but it ended up being a clip from X-men. I've actually never seen that happen before in a movie, a scene from a completely different movie interrupts the current movie's credits. Most people left confused and the credits continued.

Me and a handful of other hopeful viewers stayed to see if there was anything else, but that was it. We left a bit disappointed. Although, the scene right before the credits was kind of like what a post-credits scene would be. I mean, it wasn't that important to have a post-credits scene, but knowing Marvel, it was a bit expected.

I think we're forgetting that there are at least three different distributors of movies using Marvel Comics characters - Sony (Amazing Spider-Man), Fox (X-Men, Fantastic 4), and Marvel Studios/Disney (Iron Man, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Avengers, etc.).

The latter distributor is the one that usually does the whole mid and post-credits trope we're familiar with. Though I don't really blame anyone having these expectations. Personally, I hate them.

When I went to see it, they played a preview of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Pretty stupid if you ask me. Gimme a post-credits scene relevant to the movie anyday.
