Default Upgrading 3DS battery

Hey guys. Actually forgot I had an account here >.<

Anyway, I've had my 3DS since September 2011, and I'm aware that as the technology ages, the battery starts to weaken.

However, I can fully charge my 3DS overnight (I usually sleep 9-10 hours) and I only get like an hour of play before it goes flat.

I play in power saving mode, brightness down all the way, net off most the time plus headphones, so I really have no idea why my 3DS only lasts an hour before I need to recharge.

I'm wondering if there is anything I could possibly do to fix it? I've heard of batteries tha double play time, but I have my doubts. Cheers.

I don't think it would be that hard to change the battery. Usually Nintendo products seem to only require unscrewing two screws to get the cover off, then the battery has a quick release connector. I don't know about replacement batteries, but get one that is decently rated.

the battery should definitely last longer though.

You can buy an extended battery that replaces the stock battery from Mugen Power.

They have extended batteries for the 3DS/3DSXL/2DS (seperate models), which last roughly 2-3 times longer than the stock battery does.

You can also buy the Nyko Power Pak, which is an extended battery that also more than doubles the battery life, and it is much cheaper, being only 10$ now at Gamestop, and Best Buy.

For anyone else looking at this, if you buy the Nyko Power Pak, only buy the battery, do not purchase the one that comes with the charging base. ONLY CHARGER THE SYSTEM THROUGH THE ORIGINAL CHARGER PORT, do not use the base that comes with it.
