A few months ago had to upgrade my 3DS XL's 4GB memory card to a 16GB card. Today i checked and it's already 46% full! I thought it would last me longer than that.

How big is the memory card in your 3DS/2DS, and how full is it?

I went for a 32gb card and it's nearly empty. And considering the vast majority of 3DS games (and eshop downloads as well of course) are far less than 1 GB in size (looking at it right now, Mario 3D land is only about 290mb for the entire game!), I don't see myself ever needing to change in the future.

Also I would never purchase any SD card less than 16gb in size since they go for only around $10 with an 8gb going for roughly $5, if an additional $5 to double the size is going to break you financially you have much bigger problems.

Mine is 4GB, the one that came with the XL. I still have plenty of capacity.

I have a 32gb card. Still plenty of room left, and since I don't download any retail games it's probably going to stay that way.

Looks like it's the case, but I included it in the poll anyways (along with "less than 2GB" because who knows?) Apparently 64gb 128gb and up work (with all blocks accessible), but they need to be formatted in a way Windows does not allow.

I use the SD cards that came with the units.
So a 2GB in my 3DS and a 4GB in my 3DSXL.
I don't have any real need to upgrade. I hardly use the camera, I have only a couple of albums on the card and I don't do digital downloads.
So basically th eonly thing I use it for is the extra data.

I just upgraded my 3DS's originally-included 2GB SD card to a 16GB SDHC card about a week ago; I'm glad I upgraded it, because I had been out of space for over half a year. The thing is, I had that 16GB SDHC card since either December or January, yet I was too lazy to switch out the old one until just recently.

I'm using 32GB, and it is perfectly fine. I've got a ton of eShop titles, quite a few Virtual Console titles (Which are all very tiny in space), and I have 8 retail titles downloaded onto my 3DS (Mario Tennis, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus Uprising, Tomodachi Collection, Ocarina of Time 3D, Senran Kagura Burst, Tetris, and Shifting Worlds), and I still have tons of free space.

Since my 3DS is Japanese and I'm in Japan, Smash 3DS will also be on my 3DS on September 13th! w00t!

As i post this im in the process of upgrading to a bigger memory card. Just waiting for data to be copied from a 16gb card to a 32gb card. Tho having a few issues with the 3DS reading the data on the 32gb card.

Pretty sure class doesn't change load times on the 3DS.

I have two 32GB cards. The first card has under 1,000 blocks left and have 42 retail and one demo.

I've got a 32gb, but that's overkill for my needs. I originally thought that 3DS retail games (which is what I use it for most, VERY seldom buy anything Eshop or VC) were going to be more around PSP UMD sized, ~1gb to 1.5gb. But most are smaller than even 1GB (I think mario 3D Land is like only 300mbs). So for my needs the 32gb is a bit overkill, although I would never use a device nowadays that can't give me at least 16gb.

32. More than enough, and messing around with the 64+ ones (formatting, etc) is too much of a hassle.

16 GB I think. I still have plenty of room. I doubt I'll ever fill it up cause I only get virtual console games on the eshop and the occasional download only game.

Mine is eight gigs, but I'm planning on getting a bigger one for Pokemon so that I can get both games but only take up space for one.
