I really want Nintendo to focus on Dual Screen gaming until it comes to the point that they have ran out of ideas with it as I can see an infinite amount of creativity that dual screen can have.

me too. in my opinion, 1 screen isnt enough. Maps on soccer games and racing games is just awesome on 2 screens.

Single screen is more comfortable but I do love some games that fully utilize the dual screens. The bottom screen is nice because it keeps the stylus off of the top screen where scratches are more noticeable, especially in 3D. I'm leaning towards "No" on this one.

why get rid of it? there are games that doesn't use the touch screen at all and it doesn't bother. a single screen game is not worse for being on a dual screen system but a dual screen game can be **** on a single screen system....because it's missing a screen XD

I think Nintendo is also using the Wii U as a means of seeing what the could do for future handheld games (In terms of power, graphics, etc). Imagine in the next generation, a handheld that is as powerful and just as capable as the Wii U. That would be awesome!

I absolutely love duel screens, and I think Nintendo is only getting better at it.

theoretically they could do one large touchscreen that can be used as 2 framed seperated screens...if ya know what i mean...like a 2DS but with one fat square screen in the center. that way you can use the screen as one large one or used it like the traditional DS style 2 screen thingy.

The Dual Screens had a lot of negative reviews since the DS. However, I think Nintendo has proven that screensize isn't all that matters. The PSP had a bigger screen back in the day, yet the games weren't any better because of it.
The Dual screen does add to the gameplay when used properly though. Easy menu navigation, HUD doens't clutter the main screen, live map when playing.
I don't see a real reason to cut the 2nd screen.

Two screens has never really hindered me in enjoying a game. Either it's just there and doesn't affect me, or it'll be a benefit. New Leaf and Mario Golf are good examples of benefit from two screens.

I think no. The Dual screen is perfect. As long as they don't use it as a main control for games *coughKidIcaruscough*

I forget where, but I heard rumors somewhere that instead of having a handheld and a home console, the next one will be the two combined. Like kinda like the wiiu but you can actually take the second part with you and use it as a portable wherever you want, but also attach it to the home console when home. I think this could be realistic and a good idea.

Anywho, I think for most of the games, they've been utilizing having 2 screens really nicely. soi think they should keep it up at least for now

This. The existence of the second screen alone adds a ton of convenience and functionality to the game. I can never see them going back to a single screen.

I completely agree. Although it may not be that good for consoles like the WiiU as there is a lot of distance between the two screens and it's really tiring and distracting swifting focus, dual screens are perfect for handhelds as the main screen is small and a lot of information can be shown on the secondary screen.

for me personally the way smartphones are doing things with one screen while still useing touch is the smartest way to go just like the wii u game pad, we no longer need 2 screens when we basically have a DS in our pockets that does everything with 1 screen

Overall, I think that having two screens have benefited the gaming experience for me and I also think it helps make the DS and 3DS stand out amongst all the one-screen portable devices. I therefore hope to see it continue.

There'd have to be a reason for the removal. If they have a genuinely good feature and that second screen has to be cut, then fine. Removing the screen just for the heck of it makes no sense.

How will that make any difference? Inorder to compete, Nintendo needs to be different. You honestly think that one screen is the only way to go?

Two screens works perfect if they don't try to over do it. For just the convenience factor of having one screen for the game in all it's immersive glory and another for an inventory or map is far too valuable to just do away with. If anything I think they sometimes get a bit ahead of themselves and start worrying about the second screen more than the first and that is where the issues begin.

im with banjo, until theres something different and better that can replace the second screen i dont think it will be going anywhere, at least for handhelds anyway
it makes seeing things like maps and stuff like that easier, you dont have to press start and view the map if its already on the bottom screen, or have it small in the bottom corner

Doesn't really bother me either way. Dual-screens are extremely useful in some games, and in others not so much. Really depends on the game. I don't know what I would do without my map on the second screen on New Leaf. Whereas with Pokemon, I would be okay with the menu items being on one screen. I feel like maps and things of that nature are great on a second screen where you don't have to pause the game to see it.

I still wouldn't mind if Nintendo decided to go with one screen in the future. We would adapt, and games would be adapted to work with it. So either way is fine with me, but no the dual-screens don't hinder my gaming experience.

No i dont i just wish i could see something diffrent from nintendo now that we've had the 2 screen shell design for a while it would be nice to see something new, besides i feel its becoming somewhat stale (and i mean something different from the 2DS design ugh)
and i know the clam shell protects the screens but i would still like to see something new instead of just buying the same thing with better graphics card and a 3D switch once in a while but it seems that the 3DS will be here for a long time due to its success...i just feel they should change it up ya know?

Nah. I really think Nintendo should keep around the dual-screen concept for as long as possible. It really comes in handy most of the time.

Yes, I prefer a single screen although that really doesn't affect gameplay. It might be the time for, much to many's dismay, cut off the DS brand and cut backwards compatibility in order cut off from having two screens for the rest of the handheld history...
