Default How durable is the 3DS charging port?

Today, I was using my XL without realizing that my charging cable was wrapped around my couch. I got up with the cable plugged in, and there was a bit of a tug as the cable stretched out as far as it would go.

Would something like that damage the charging slot? I don't think so, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

yeah, things like that can cause a chain reaction in the battery compartment with the light emitter of the screen and cause an explosion. the way the 3DS is built is basicly the same way a smart bomb is built...just without uranium.

this is unrelated to the topic so this still counts as spam
and what was that middle part? you are trying to advertise? no, the mods dont like that here

and OP i see your question hasnt been answered properly, i guess if you dont pull at it too hard, from an angle, or put things in the charging port and keep it clean it should be okay

The port on the 3DS should be pretty sturdy. Unless you actually get something to break off inside the port, you shouldn't have any troubles still using it. However, I will say that tugging on the charging cable itself is an obvious "no no" as it could cause a short in the cable rendering it incapable of charging your 3DS. But, like many things, pulling on it the wrong way one time won't likely damage it much if at all. =)

I don't think it should cause any damage but if it's on an angle you might bend the charger plug.
