Default 3DS XL hinge durability.

according to him, the hinges will break if the xl is simply opened and closed rapidly. Is this really true?

I'm paranoid about this because i don't want the xl's led to get broke all of a sudden. Is the material made of steel or plastic?

I'm honestly not sure what the hinge is made out of (probably plastic). However, why would you open an XL and close it rapidly? I think while it is a valid concern to be worried about as long as you take care of your system you will be fine. It certainly isn't a widespread issue to be worried about.

Yes, by rapidly open and closing the 3DS you might split Atoms in the material and cause a chain reaction which could cause the 3DS to explode. The hinges of the 3DS are basicly built like a smart bomb, just without the plutonium.

The 3DS's hinge is the most durable of the DS line. Nintendo did have to make it a bit looser to do this, but it should last longer than a DS, DS Lite, DSi, etc hinge.

Then explain how the XL's hinges have curves in them and if you notice at the sides, there's a tiny gap there?

Really why didn't they seal the hinges like the original? it was squared and also It was even more firm and was not THAT clicky.

How well do you remember the original? My friend has the original ugly one plus a couple lites, and all the hinges are now flappier than my aunt edna's batwings.

Now I noticed that the left side of the XL's hinges moves a bit loose compared to the right side if pressed slightly at the corners when closed. Is this normal??????
