I bought an eshop card but it doesn't work, looks like the guy who sold it to me forgot to activate it but it's too troublesome to get it refunded, anybody knows a way I can activate it myself?

Best thing to do is simply go back and make the dude activate it.

been a while since i had an eshop card, and idk if its the same for eu and usa so idk what the font looks like on the cards
but i know with club nintendo its very easy to mix up 1 and I, and also O and 0, so make sure you are putting the right numbers/letters in and then try?

if it still doesnt work go back and ask to get it activated

Better call Nintendo'so tech support, the guy on the store will probably shake off the responsibility (and I can't blame him for it, how can you prove that you didn't already use the code?)
