I don't feel bad for everyone else. XD This might actually be the first time I am glad to be in Australia when it comes to gaming. Still makes me wonder why we're getting the New 3DS/XL first (outside of Japan).
I'll be going for the metallic blue XL. It's a bit lame to have to buy the AC adapter and charging cradle separately. I guess anyone outside Australia who uses PAL systems can still import one if they don't wanna wait until next year.

I don't really know since nobody really imports from us. XD Sadly I'm pretty sure our gaming retailers like EB Games don't do international. All I know is eBay, but that will suck since scumbag sellers will jack up the prices to take advantage of those who are desperate.

EDIT. Nevermind they cancelled my preorder T-T
They ship to Europe!!!! He and I already have it preordered. Import go go go Btw it's actually a lot cheaper than if you would buy it in Europe, even with shipping.

So in other words, since Australia uses PAL, pretty much every region except North America is getting the new 3DS this year. Sometimes I just wish Canada was its own region, maybe then we would get things sooner and be freed from the "hate America" treatment.

Tekka and Joba, you guys could try our JB Hi-Fi. I just checked and apparently they do ship international. I didn't realize they did that! :O

Really? That's lame!
EDIT: Sorry to say, but I think you guys might just have to order one on eBay if you want it bad enough. I've checked everywhere I know of and they either don't have New 3DS listed in their stock, or they don't do international/don't ship consoles international.

I keep getting the feeling that they will all of a sudden announce that these are coming to North America just before Thanksgiving. Or maybe that's wishful thinking?
Have they made any announcements about any games that will be new-3DS only compatible?

I guess in a way it makes sense for them to hold off until after the new year in the US. Now that Wii U is finally picking up some steam, a new 3DS might pull sales away from it before Christmas.

There would be no point in upgrading till next year in North America anyway unless you're going for the better 3D viewing angles, then I could see a need. But it is a far better move for Nintendo to wait until 2015 to launch in North America so they can try and move more WiiUs and games this holiday season. That's just my opinion anyway.

Not sure if this will mean anything at all. But ive just noticed.
On my original model 3DS & my regular Yoshi themed 3DS XL, both brought new in New Zealand, after the model number written on the back of the devices it has EUR in brackets to show that they are European 3DS models. Now on my new New 3DS also brought new in New Zealand, there is no country code listed after the model number written on the device. So with no country codes listed with the model numbers on the new 3DS models sold in Australia/New Zealand could this mean anything at all?

Now we already know that the New 3DS models are not region free, but with Nintendo recently talking about maybe making there consoles region free in the future & the New 3DS models in Australia/New Zealand dropping the country code from there model number. Is this maybe the first step in Nintendo making a region free device again & are they maybe setting up the New 3DS models so that a future software update can make them region free?

The overall improved speed of the device is definitely its best feature, at least until we start seeing the exclusive games only that system can run. A close second for me is the wireless file management feature, removing the need to swap an SD card back and forth between the device and your computer. It makes accessing screenshots, adding music and backing up your data extremely convenient.

I bought the New 3DS XL at launch and the faster CPU and Wi-Fi are definitely the most welcome upgrades, along with the new 3D feature, which, when compared to the old 3D is vastly superior, and I can now use the 3D comfortably from a greater range of distances and angles from my face.
It's also nice to finally have a fully functional browser and the fact it can play Youtube videos makes it my favourite portable video player since I can just sit it on my bed at night and prop the screen up to watch videos without having to hold a tablet the whole time. The C-Stick also works well enough with Resident Evil: Revelations, and has, for me, breathed new life into the game since the controls are fresh and new (I never owned a Circle Pad Pro). Overall this is a vastly superior model to the original 3DS and 3DS XL, and I wouldn't want to go back to them after experiencing what the New 3DS has to offer.

I got the New 3DS XL on launch day as well.
Nothing much to say that hasn't already been said. Everything about the New 3DS is superior. Now if only we could get our hands on an exclusive title to make use of having this system. Only complaints are the stylus placement and game cartridge placement - it feels awkward having them both at the front.

I don't really have a problem with the game card placement, but I agree the stylus was so much more natural on the right. I also think the power button should still be on the face instead of the bottom. It's made worse by the fact that it does not protrude, so it's awkward trying to press it.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the power button placement is awkward to press.
I dunno, it doesn't lessen the experience, but for me it just feels unnatural having the game card placement at the front. Still not used to the stylus at the front, by instinct I keep reaching for it from the right side.
