Default Custom Gamecube controller

In anticipation for Super Smash Bros. I Painted up one of my Gamecube controllers, It came out pretty good, figured other smashers would appreciate it here, so why not show it off.

I plan To add a White Smashball decal I found that is perfectly sized for the Gamecube controller later.

What's it based off, if anything?

To be honest, it isn't based of anything, these are two colors i really like together, and i figured since it was my first time painting one I would keep it simple, and focus on getting the paint on well, when i do paint again, i am going to use some stencils to elevate it a bit.

I just ordered this, but in white, to put on the controller. It fits GameCube controllers perfectly.

That's actually a pretty decent paint job. What kind of materials did you use? And what was the process like? Can you go into a little bit more detail?

Thanks a bunch! The Paint i used was Krylon Fusion (Spray Paint that sticks to Plastic). First, I masked the inside of the buttons, to stop paint from seeping inside the controller. Next, I lightly sanded down the controller, to give the paint a better adhesion to the surface. Then, I laid down three coats of Krylon Fusion color of my choice, the first coat being a thin coat, giving one hour dry time between coats. Finally I sprayed three coats of Krylon fusion clear coat giving an hour of dry time between. The final product is a nicely painted controller, with a semi-glossy finish!

That honestly reminds me of Mona from WarioWare, as weird as that sounds.
Fantastic job!

This is kinda stupid question. Do you think with extended play and with your hands sweating the paint will come off?

I thought that this would happen too. So far, it has held up to my hands well, and i play Melee a lot! Also, upon looking at the Smashboards people who painted their controllers with the same paints as me haven't said anything about paint coming off. I believe the many layers of clear coat will protect the controller, but who knows? Only time will tell.
