Question Use more then one SD card on 3DS?

If your current 3DS's SD memory card runs out of space can you use more then one SD memory card and swap them back and fourth?

You're able to use as many SD cards as you want. Just make sure that the 3DS is powered off before switching them. Also make sure to be mindful of any cartridge games that have extra data stored on the SD card so you don't lose any progress/data when playing them with a different one.

If you use more then one card what happens during a system transfer since only one card will be in the 3DS during the transfer, what happens to the other cards, will they still work once the transfer is complete?

I'm not 100% sure because I've only done one transfer with one SD card, but the other card should work. In fact, a system transfer doesn't bring over anything saved on the SD card. It only transfers what's in the internal/system memory like your eShop account/NNID/Streetpass data. That's why it tells you to put your SD card (from the old 3DS) into the target/new 3DS when it's over. So from that I'll assume that the other card will work.

Thanks for the reply, I read on Nintendo's support site that they don't recommend using more then one SD card with a single 3DS-

However I've heard from a few other 3DS owners that they have used more then one SD card swapping them back and fourth successfully on their systems. I even called Nintendo's tech number and ask them about it and was told you can but it's not recommended due to possible data corruption.
