Default Battery problem

I don't know if this is the right place for my question so please excuse me if it isnt.

A friend of mine owns two 3DS's and there is one weird Problem with one of them. The problem is that the battery of NDS #1 lasts for 1 hour even if you play or not. If u take the battery from nds#1 and change it with the one from nds#2 it's the same. but both battery lasts more then 3 hours on nds#2. So nds#1 has a hardware malfunction like defect condensator?
I hope anyone knows a solution

I'm not sure what could be the cause of this.
Have you tampered with it?
Did you take the back off just to change/check the battery?
Has it ever been dropped?

It's probably best to send it off to Nintendo, see what they make of it.
