Default How do I transfer SD card data to a Micro SD card

Hi, I just got a "New" Nintendo 3DS XL today and I have realised that there is only a Micro SD Card in it. How do I transfer my SD card games to the Micro SD card on my new 3ds?

Just copy/paste the files.

Assuming you have a micro SD card reader/adapter.

I'm led to believe the New 3DS has the option of copying SD card contents directly from the old system, eliminating the need for you to use a PC.

It may take a while depending on how much you have downloaded.

Yes, this is what I did when I copied the data.

The other option is to copy manually with a PC.

Just picked up a New 3DS myself. I did a system transfer from my 3DS XL (old system) to my New 3DS (new system) & during the transfer process it gave me the option to wirelessly transfer the content from my old systems SD card to my new systems micro sd card with out the need for using a PC.

Like Tekka said the transfer between memory cards may take a while depending on how much data is on your SD card.

Ideally you should buy a micro sd card of equal size to your current sd card.
