Both our daugthers will get a 3DS for Christmas and both want to play Pok?mon Y. Do I have to buy 2 x Pok?mon Y or only one is ok and both will be able to play at the same time? Once you insert the cartridge is there an option to download the game?

Thanks

You will need 2 copies.

You should try and sell one of your daughters on "X" so that once they are done with one, they can trade.

2 players, 2 games.

It's best to get one daughter X and another Y. Each has its own exclusive pokemon. They can then trade with each other and get pokemon the other version doesn't have.

Ok I don't know nothing about this but does this game offer to play at the same time together and see each other? It started out that a friend at school have it and they wanted both to play with him and my undestanding was at the same time in the same game.

No, not exactly.

You can trade or battle your monsters with anyone else who has their own copy of Pokemon X or Pokemon Y.

You're better off. Each copy only allows you to save one file at a time, so now both of your daughters will be able to progress through their games without having to interrupt each other or carry on where the other left off. And like already mentioned, now they'll be able to interact with each other through trading or battling, which can actually be a pretty fun and important aspect of the game (you'll need two 3DS's to do this, however).
