Default NEED SUGGESTIONS

Hey guys so I'm newish to the 3DS (only had it a few months) and I already own Smash 3DS, Super Mario Bros 2, MaioKart 7, Pokemon Y and Rayman 3D.

Through my childhood I only really bought into Pokemon and Mario games when it came to handhelds. Looking to possibly explore some more

In short I need suggestions for a couple of new games to buy. I've heard good news about the Zelda games, Kirby TD, Kid Icarus and Animal crossing. Which of these would be a good start to branching out?

I like adventure, fighting and platformers mostly but I'm open to ALL suggestions

Thanks in advance!

Rayman 3d is just rayman 2 (N64), but aside from that, the legend of zelda ocarina of time (3D) and the legend of zelda: oracle of seasons (virtual console) are both good zelda games available on the 3DS. Also, I personally really enjoy Scribblenauts unlimited, and pokemon Battle trozei (not quite a pokemon game, more like a puzzle game).

Yeah I had searched something about that but I had never played Rayman 2 anyway so it's all good.

Thanks for the suggestions! Zelda seems like a strong pick. Would you recommend any one of them over the other? & why if you don't mind?

(others who see this, do continue to suggest; I will take a few recommendations into consideration first)

Rayman 3D is the same game (its a remake). Zelda is one of the best games, my MOM is a fan of zelda... Oracle of seasons is cheap ($5.99) but Ocarina of time is 40 dollars. Scribblenauts unlimited is a great game, but even it gets old... I would recommend pokemon alpha sapphire, but you want to try something totally new...

I'll be getting Alpha Sapphire in due time Just not as yet. I'll look into Ocarina of time as I'm looking for a 3DS game. Thanks for your input!

Zelda Ocarina of Time and or Zelda A Link Between Worlds are both made for 3DS, so I would recommend those before going to the virtual console zeldas.

Actually, A link between worlds isn't my favorite... It doesn't have much of an after game...

Which of the two would you say you prefer? and for what reason(s)?

One recommendation, Fantasy Life including DLC, has almost 300 hours clocked in on my 3DS.

Some games you could get:

Platformers:
Shovel Knight,
Shantae,
Kirby TD

Fighters:
Street Fighter 4
Dead or Alive Dimensions
Tekken 3D

Not so sure about 'adventure' games on 3DS. Maybe Monster Hunter & the Lego games? (both have great 2 player modes)

I'd recommend getting physical copies of some of the older games, though, as it'll be cheaper than the eShop.

edit: Also, if you just got your 3DS and Smash Bros, it's worth registering the codes you got with them for Club Nintendo - and take part in the Winter Games Promotion where you can get a free game. (You can choose between Zelda ALBW, Monster Hunter 3U, Yoshi's New Island, Kirby TD, Pokemon Art Academy, Mario Party or Mario Golf)
I used this promotion and got 4 'free' games

Ooh wow there's a lot there! Are they both in order of priority? If not, which would you say are there best from each list? (If you haven't played them then don't worry about that).

A free game sounds awesome! Does that work with a code from each game or just Smash?

I also tried logging into club Nintendo but couldn't get my password right, tried resetting it but I've never got the password on any of my several attempts doing this. That'll go off topic though so PM me if you have any advice on that
