Default My short story - Give me your feedback

I was unfortunate enough, that I didn't had any console when I was a kid so I missed a lot of great games which are really old now. PC was the real deal everywhere here, consoles were not popular at all.

My 1st console ever was a PS3 back in 2011 and it's almost 1 year since I bought my 1st Nintendo console. The 3DS.
The reason behind this was the fact that I found myself pretty much bored of all the new games coming out for the PC and the PS. I am an oldschool player. It's all about the graphics and DLC money. The gameplay and fun is just gone.. period. But thats allright for the new generation since they dont remember what a good game should look like. It's pretty normal and standard to them to have an Assasins Creed or Call of Duty game every year coming out with tons of DLC's.

Now I am amost 31 years old, and for example my 1st Nintendo experience was Zelda ALBW which came with my golden 3DS as DLC.
Bought OOT a month ago because I really liked the games and the oldschool feeling. Played some other good titles aswell.
Cannot really compare these games to the ones I used to play and I am looking for more. And here is the part, where I need your help :-) The long introduction was just to get you in to the picture

I feel like I missed a big portion of gaming history for the last 20 years and I am posessed to play, or atleast try everything. I am also looking at the older DS titles since they are compatible backwards with the 3DS and also considering even older eshop VC games like Metroid, Mega Man and Castlevania games. Maybe even the very old Zelda games.
Currently I am looking forward to get Azure Strike Gunvolt once when its released in EU,Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Fire Emblem Awakening. Currently I am playing Shovel Knight and I love the game.

I want your opinion and suggestion for games that are considered as must play titles for the last decade.
Games doesnt have to be new or just released, you may look back deep into the past but they have to be available to play on the 3DS in physical copy, eshop ( EU release ) or VC.

Here are all my games so far.

- Luigis Mansion 2
- Bravely Default
- New Super Mario Bros 2
- Super Smash Bros
- Animal Crossing : New Leaf
- The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time
- The Legend of Zelda : A Link between worlds
- Megaman ZX ( DS )
- Sonic Lost World
- Donkey Kong Country Returns
- Shovel Knight

Sorry for the long post and thank you very much for all the feedback.

Hmm. My list of must plays:

Kid Icarus Uprising 3ds
Kid Icarus 3d Classics 3d vc
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening vc
Donkey Kong (the gameboy one) vc
Legend of Zelda vc
Super Mario 3 vc
Mega Man 2 vc
Punch Out vc
Ninja Gaiden vc
Mega Man Zero collection ds
Monster Tale ds
Chrono Trigger ds
Retro Game Challenge ds
Star Fox 3ds
Super Mario 3d Land 3ds
Fantasy Life 3ds

There are two Zelda games on ds, but you control Link with the stylus. Wasnt a big fan of that (then again KIU has a similar control scheme for half the game). There are three Castlevania games for ds that I hear are good. I have them, but have not played them yet. If they are like the gba Castlevania games, then they are great.

Definitely get Mario Kart 7, Mario Golf World Tour, and Mario Tennis Open if you're into multiplayer. Their single player modes are fun enough (I really enjoy World Tour's solo stuff), but the local/online multiplayer is where the games really shine. Here's a few other games that I think are must plays, or at the very least are really worth checking out.

Rhythm Heaven (Rhythm Paradise) (DS)
Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story (DS)
Mario and Luigi Dream Team (3DS)
Kirby Super Star Ultra (DS)
Kirby Triple Deluxe (3DS)
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call (3DS)
Xeodrifter (eShop)
Mutant Mudds (eShop)
Mighty Switch Force 1 & 2 (eShop)
Pokemon X/Y and Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (3DS)
Sonic Colors (DS)
Pullblox and Fallblox (Pushmo and Crashmo) (eShop)
Harmoknight (eShop)
