I've tried a search about this subject but didn't find anything about this on the forums.

Yesterday I recieved an email from Nintendo inviting me to participate in the New 3DS Ambassador Program. This means I have the opportunity to get the N3DS before the EU release.

The bundle includes a white N3DS, additional Ambassador Covers, Smash Bros Covers, and a white charging dock.It ships within a week, so that means that I could be playing on a N3DS next week!

While I'm certainly tempted I also wonder, has anyone else recieved this invitation and will you get it?

I'm having a hard time right now. I decided to get it but I can only pay by credit card.
I've asked Nintendo if there is an alternative payment method, so fingers crossed.
No reply sofar, and time is running out.

The fact that credit card is the only option surprised me. Credit cards are not very common in The Netherlands. If I recall correctly as few as 15% of the population has a credit card.

(I actually considered getting one for this occasion, but it takes 10 days for the card to arrive. Too late.)

Besides the exclusive Ambassador Edition cover plate, is there anything else special about these that make them worth having?

But don't you already own a New 3DS?

@peanut, well the N3DS itself.
Since I'm going to buy it anyway I might as well get it now.
Apart from the Ambassadors plates it also includes Smash Bros plates and a white charging unit. No charger though, but the 3DS' charger will work just fine.

Oh, I've had a New 3DS since November. So I take it besides the face plates and receiving it before the European release, there's nothing else special about it. For some reason I thought it might have had some free preinstalled games or some sort of promotion like the Deluxe/Premium Wii U.

Oh, I see, but I thought you had an XL? Maybe I was mistaken there. Sorry for all the questions!

It's pretty cool of Nintendo to have a promotion like this going on for the Euros. Maybe it's a scheme to try and slightly boost the N3DS sales? I would personally still wait for the NXL release, however.

Nobody really knows.
I'm a member of Nintendo since ?98 I think. I own all systems and have a cabinet full of games. I've redeemed lots of Star Points and ordered various things from the Stars Catalogue. I write a review on almost every game I buy. I am virtually not active on MiiVerse.

So my guess is a combination of length of membership and (purchase) activity.

Just got word from Nintendo of Europe, no alternative methods of payment will be available.

Mine's supposed to be coming today, the email says please allow till 9PM. Didn't know places delivered so late. ANYWAY, I'm super excited. Hope it shows up.

I had to move heaven and earth, I even gave up in the process... But only a minute ago I put my order down.
My *cough cough* 'friend' with a creditcard didn't want to help me out. Unless it was a mater of life and death he wasn't going to give me his CC number.
I've had never paid with a CC before and now seeing how easy it is to use one I can imagine being cautious with sharing a CC number.
Just have to put hin on my enemy list now...

Anyway, I walked into a books store today and they had a bunch of prepaid cards, including prepaid creditcards. Now, I've already seen them online but it takes 10 days for them to arrive. This one I can pick up now.
So I went for a coffee, read the terms and conditions on my mobile and bought the card.
Activate, upgrade with a bunch of €€€ and voila, I've got a working CC!

Nintendo's website said delivery within 7 days, it's going to be a loooong week.

Glad to see you got your payment through! My n3DS XL from New Zealand arrived yesterday and man, if you like your normal 3DS (XL) then you will LOVE the new one. 3D is so sweet now, incredible! Booting and starting games is also a very nice extra, more so than I thought. So you bought a very nice machine!

Oh, I'm totally psyched! Would you believe I hardly slept last night? Haha, I'm 30 and lay awake because I ordered a New 3DS!

@TheForce81, if you ordered one from New Zealand don't you have a problem with the region lock? Wouldn't limit that you to download and import games?

I'm really curious how the faceplates will be recieved here in Holland. I don's see myself buying new pairs every month. I will get the wooden one once it's released here.

New Zealand is in the same region as Australia and therefor in the same region as Europe. Already transfered my Dutch Zelda ALBW 3DS XL contents over to my n3DS XL
