Default Wait worth it for the 'New' 3DS, should I buy an original 3DS XL while its cheap?

Hey!
The 'New' 3DS releases in just under a month and it looks pretty cool but I'm not sure if it would be worth the extra money.
Currently, I could get a original 3DS XL Limited Edition bundled with Super Mario 3D Land for the cheap price of ?119.99 or I could wait until next month and purchase the 'New' 3DS (not XL) for ?149.99 on February 13th.
I've been looking to purchase the 3DS for a while now (after trading it in after its first year) with its strong library of games and this price point of ?119.99 is really making me consider it for an XL and a game with it.
I've heard that the 'New' 3DS will have games exclusive to it due to extra processing power but do you think they'll end up just having 1 or 2 exclusives but make most games compatible with the older systems? Should I go and get an original XL while its cheap or wait it out?
Thanks, looking forward to the replies!

The only exclusive game announced so far is Xenoblade Chronicles.

But even regular 3DS games will have features that can only be used on the new 3DS e.g. camera control in Monster Hunter 4 and Majora's Mask. The new 3DS does have a lot of nice improvements:
  • Higher performance CPU
  • A second analog stick on the right known as a c-stick
  • ZL and ZR shoulder buttons
  • Improved stereoscopic 3D w/ facial camera tracking
  • Built-in NFC
  • Improved internet browser
  • Improved battery life
However, I think you're correct. I doubt that Nintendo will make very many exclusive new 3DS titles. If you're looking to save money, just go with the original XL. But if you think the above improvements are worth it, get the new 3DS.

Very informative, thanks Kinvara. Majoras Mask is the only game I am looking forward to so I will hold out until I can spend the money to upgrade or a must have becomes exclusive for the new 3ds. If so, my credit card will be taking that hit. ; )
