Dark red is my favorite color. Third "day one" 3DS. I might preorder this one.

That looks pretty legit, and given all the recent things that have been announced, im gonna give my stamp of "Is probably real". So excited now. February 13th is right around the corner. Hopefully I can pool the money to get it.

Everyone saw those XL colours coming to NA from a mile away. Maybe if I just wait a couple months, we will see a silver or something. Otherwise, black it is. Given up all hope of ever seeing an all-green 3DS.

We just got the Ambassador new 3DS! Even though that is a special edition, we got it officially before NA. And normally Australia is dead last, fortunately for them, they finally got something quickly!

No regular New 3DS for NA? Weren't they discontinuing the original 3DS in NA? Maybe it has something to do with that? I dunno. It's kinda weird you guys are only getting the XL, I assumed faceplates were gonna be a huge thing.

Yeah, it's weird. I was leaning towards the XL model in the first place but it would have been nice to have the option.

I think there's still a lot of regular 3DS in stock here in the US. The XL must sell better by a large margin.

After having an XL for a while, I don't think I could've switched back to a smaller screen. Stills seems kinda odd. But I guess Nintendo probably knows what they're doing.

I wanted the regular but I'm fine getting the XL. Still sucks NA isn't getting the regular one. I understand XL sells better, but the option still would have been nice. Pre-ordered the black XL at Gamestop.

If by some miracle the Majora's Mask XL goes back up for pre-order/has any stock on release day then I'll definitely go with that one. If not, I'll settle for red. At first I was a bit disappointed that there's no blue, but there's something I really like about the red one.

Will certain games only be playable on this new 3ds? I hope not since I just got my 3ds.

THe only new 3DS exclusive so far is Xenoblade port.

And even that you can already play on Wii and probably Wii U in the future. I see N3DS exclusive games in the same manner as games with DSi compatibility. It won't lead to anything.

Does anyone think Nintendo will release a regular size new 3ds for NA sometime this year or will we only see the XL version?

I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to launch the regular new Nintendo 3DS for the holidays but I was always going to get the XL version so it doesn't make a difference to me.

I would just like something that is pocket size @ very portable. I've never had the chance go handle an XL so idk if it would work in my back pocket

I've owned 2 3DS's and 1 XL, the only problem with the regular version was the screen size, now it's addressed and we don't get it. XL can fit into your pockets but barely, and it's not fun.

Not gonna lie, it's actually a pretty big slap in the face to those that were anticipating the faceplates and the slightly larger screens on the NOG. I'm in the same boat as Kin, though. Figure the XL will be ideal for Smash, plus I already have an OG purp, so no reason to go for the NOG, really. Although I'm not going to lie, I'll miss being able to easily carry my 3DS with me everywhere without any extra bulk whatsoever.

Not sure, the back of the manual reads Nintendo Australia though. I'm guessing its identical to the model you guys have? I can't confirm this

Yes it is, mine came from NZ and works perfectly fine with my EU games and Dutch eShop. Already transferred all my EU 3DS XL stuff over to my NZ n3DS.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the European/Australian/Japan models of that standard new 3D will be able to play North America games?

Also, (newb question alert!) how does the charging work with imported consoles? I don't have a cable currently as I'm hoping to be a new 3DS owner (pun not intended!). Would I have any problems with importing one for EuropeLand or KangarooLand and using a US bought charger with it?

Imported consoles only work with games from the region they are from. You buy it from Japan you can only play games from Japan and the same goes with any other region.. it's the unfortunate region lock. Despite this I'm fairly sure the Chargers are universal but you should do some research on that.

Actually, the New 3DS XL gives no Club Nintendo points... I was disappointed too.
