Default Setting 3D effect on New 3DS

I noticed from all the videos I've been watching about the New 3DS, when it comes time for the system to adjust for your eyes, I've seen screens that say view up to 14 inches and other said view 14 to 16 inches.

Of course I'm probably not remembering it correctly, and the differences may be different from region to region (depending on the area the video originated.)

Anyway, once the IR camera can detect your viewing distance, I'm wondering if that's a process that can repeated if not set up correctly, for example; what would happened if my eyes were 17 or 18 inches away while setting up the devise?

I would assume that you would go into system settings to adjust the 3D if needed.

That's cool. My concern now is if there is a limit on how far away the eyes can be from the display before crosstalk occurs. When I'm sitting comfortably in a chair with the New 3DS XL on my lap, my eyes would be at or just slightly more than 16" from the display. I don't know if there is any adjustment with the setup that might help with distances further than 16".

What I'm hoping is maybe, the New 3DS XL used for the display was set up with someone's eyes closer to the display during setup accounting for crosstalk I see when my eyes are bit further away than 14 to 16 inches (and I'm talking about 17 or 18" or so.)

Anyway, I just came back from GameStop to double check the 3D effect on the New 3DS XL. I found the effect is perfect within about 14 inches or so. Then, when I move further away from the display crosstalk occurs. Again, I hope going through the setup menu for 3D alignment might help with viewing 3D images if further away than 16", say like 18 or 19" as it would be when the unit is sitting comfortably in my lap without me having to either hold the unit closer and/or without having to lean or bend over too much.

Does anyone know how far away their eyes are from the 3D display while using the 3DS?

Maybe I need to learn how to relax differently?

Or maybe, the setup within the display menu might help with intraocular distance when the device is about 17 or 18" away?

I Have the new 3DS for a while now. when ever i turn the 3D on, a red dot appears on the IR. it doesnt matter how far you are.
Whenever you move the IR track you down but this time when the effect gets blurry (sometimes when u move for a second) it does not makes me want to vomit.
I would compare it to the blurriness of cinema 3d without the glasses.
The 3d is beautiful, they actually achieved what they wanted finally

I agree, the New 3DS 3D effect is beautiful. Even when I move my head.

However, I think the cut and dry question I'm trying to get an answer for is: "What is the maximum viewing distance in 3D mode" before crosstalk or other distortions occur? Is it 14"? 16"? 18"? I know anything beyond 14 or 16" creates moving lines and crosstalk.

Maybe the answer is in the manual?
