According to Nikkei Nintendo will be releasing more remasters or remakes on the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo has released multiple remakes in the past, like OoT 3D or DKCR 3D, as well as 3D Classics on the eShop for NES games.

Interesting. Any particular 3DS remasters you guys want? think any of these will be New 3DS Exclusive?

Metroid Prime Trilogy, F-Zero GX, or SSBM remakes would make me buy a N3DS. Too bad all three are extremely unlikely.

There aren't many other games on the N64 left to remaster I think.

They've covered Starfox, Pilotwings, and both Zeldas. The others remaining are Paper Mario, Super Mario 64, F-Zero X, Kirby 64 , and Yoshi's Story I think. I'm obviously not counting stuff like Super Smash Bros., Mario kart 64, and Mario Party since those games exist in some form on 3DS already.

Gamecube has a couple of games that could do the remaster thing, including two Pikmin games and Super Mario Sunshine. There's a single Zelda game there that hasn't been remastered, but I doubt Twilight Princess will get the remaster treatment on 3DS.

And then there's Wii with the Galaxy games

Is DK64 still owned by Nintendo?

That might be a possibility.

I hope they don't do more downports because Xenoblade 3D looks pretty bad.

I dunno. I didn't list anything done by Rare, and I don't think Nintendo would bother to remaster any of their games anyway so DK64 and DKR are probably out of the question

It's not impossible, though I don't know whose call Diddy Kong Racing DS was, it was a thing that happened. plus i'm really not so fond of rare's n64 output anyways

Maybe not a "conventional" answer necessarily, but I'd love to see some early Nintendo titles ported with M2 levels of care. Perhaps a port of the arcade Punch-Out games or finally an accurate console port of Donkey Kong. Not really eager to see anything so recent that it would be downgraded on its way to the 3DS. If I had to choose a console game, I think F-Zero X would be a good pick.

Paper mario seems like a perfect one to remaster, just using the sticker star engine, and just add a few extra things. Plus that way the unused partners from the first game can be seen how they would have looked in thousand year door.

I mean, I didn't really take that post as Nintendo saying they were going to make more remasters in the vein of the Majoras Mask and Starfox 64 3D; I simply responded the the idea of them considering doing more and what I think would be likely

Earthbound, A Link to the Past, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, all Metroid games, Castlevania 64 (never gonna happen, I know it wasn't that great, but for some reason I have a soft spot for it), Mother 3 (yes, I know wishful thinking again), F-Zero X, Marvelous: Another Treasure Island, DKC2, DKC3, DK64, any and all Fire Emblem games - especially the NES original, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Paper Mario...

And err... that's all that comes off the top of my head. Yes, greedy, I know. Hehe...

Anyway, this news makes me super happy, no matter what we get.

Resident evil 4 would work well

Lol, so many N3DS apologists in those comments. It looks better than it did in the first trailer but the Wii version clearly has better textures, lighting, and of course resolution. I still think it's impressive that they're able to get Xenoblade running on a 3DS but I'd rather have games that are improved by the system, or at least not downgraded. For example, MH3U on 3DS was pretty much equal to and in some aspects even better looking than Tri on the Wii.

Pok?mon Snap 3D would be kind of cool. Would kind of prefer something brand new over a remake, though.

Sonic Adventure Battle 2 would be cool but that's never happening, and it's not like Nintendo would be the ones to decide anyhow.

Other than that, I'm already pretty happy with the current 3DS library. Most of my favourites from the N64/Gamecube already have wonderful successors (Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Resident Evil, Super Smash). I guess a Donkey Kong 64 remake wouldn't hurt, but I'm not exactly jumping for it. Would rather see some new games from a previous series, like a Pikmin 3D, or a Bomberman 3D (overhead style please).

I could see F-Zero X, Kirby: Crystal Shards, SM Sunshine, and Pikmn 1+2.

He also could've meant mostly more 3D Classics.
