Default 3ds sd card transfers?

Hello c:
Im realy sorry if this is the wrong place to ask tbu I cant find what I need anywhere s: if this is the wrong place can someone point em in the right direction? thanks c:
I recently gained a new 3dsxl, which i originally was happy to start as a new ds in general, but then realized that i was going to struggle to play some games(eg fantasy life)
The ds was the majoras mask edition ad being in Europe, had the game preinstalled. Id read someone that system transfers will lead to having to reinstall any software that had been on there originally and in my excitement didnt want to do this and so started to play.
Im a fair way in and have also played another game i picked up awhile ago but never started on it
I now realize I should probably transfer my data over form my original little 3ds, but im unsure how to do this now ive been playing games on it?
I have a 32gb integral micro sd card with the sd adapter thing available to put things on, but i dont really want to **** up 2 ds's and loose a **** ton of saves ect
I did accidentally end up having to make a mii on the n3dsxl, as i opened the thing without realizing
Any help would be appreciated, thanks c:

You will have to sacrifice the saves from one of the 3DSes, as only saves from a source system can be retained. So, if you want to transfer to your New 3DS XL, you will have to give up any save data that you have made on it. There is no way around this.

Added after 36 minutes:

Althought(sorry) on that note, are there any other games that are gunna be missing things without the data form my old sd card? I know ill have to restart fantasy life on this one but i dont mind that too much, but is there anything else I should be aware of?(I imagine ill loose all streetpass data, is it gunna mess up pokemon or an i just gunna loose streetpass data there too?)
Sorry for all the questions s:

Everything from the old SD card will be retained, without exception, once you've transferred it correctly.

Everything from the New 3DS will be completely erased, and become unrecoverable with the exception of non-dlc purchases being re-downloadable.

I don't understand. If you're not transferring there wouldn't be any danger of losing anything.

If you're thinking about copying over your SD card without transferring, don't do it. It won't work.

Oh, ok. In that case, for the most part you're fine. I don't know all the games that store things on the SD card, Etrian Odyssey/Persona Q are the only other ones that come to mind with their storage of map data. But I think Fantasy Life is the only one that stores the entire save on the SD card.
