Question Question about transferring data from 3DS to N3DSXL

I understand this topic has probably been beaten to death so I apologize.

I just want to make sure that I'm following the correct steps when formatting my SDcard, transferring the data from that card to the new one, then doing the system transfer. I have a 64GB MicroSDXC.

Are these the steps I need to take?

1. Format my new 64GB card, I know there is a particular thing you have to do to cards over 32GB.
2. Remove SDcard from old 3DS and transfer its contents onto the 64GB card then put it back into the old 3DS.
3. Begin system transfer.

Now I'm done? All my game data, saved games and my Nintendo ID are not transferred over to my N3DSXL? I think I have everything correct and in the right order.

Thanks

I believe that video is for wireless transfer, which takes long. I'd like to do the computer trasfer which is quick.

Yeah, basically just format the 64gb card to fat32, then put it in the New 3DS system. Then do the transfer. During the transfer, choose the option to copy via PC. When transfer is done, turn the New 3DS off, take out the card, and copy-paste all contents from the old 3DS' card onto it. Put it back into the New 3DS and boot up and it's done.

Crap, I think I copied the contents over from my old card to my new 64GB card before doing the system transfer?

Here are the steps I took so far.

1. I formatted my 64GB sdcard.
2. Took the sdcard out of old 3DS, put the sdcard in my computer and copied the files from that sdcard onto my desktop.
3. Took those files and placed them onto the recently formatted 64GB card.
4. Placed the new sdcard into my NN3DSXL.

What do I do from here?

Do I now do the system transfer? My old 3DS has no card in it. Am I suppose to put the old card back into the original 3DS as wel and then bring up the system transfer on both devices?

What do I do if I'm using a micro sd card on my current 3DS?

I'm not sure whether or not there will be any issues with copying the old 3DS' data to the new card before the transfer or not, but since you have a backup of the data on the computer, you have nothing to worry about.

Put the old card back into the old 3DS, then do the transfer. Not sure if any new data will be created on the new unit during the transfer, but you will notice once the transfer is done if anything with the SD card is wrong. Then it's as simple as putting your new card in the computer and re-copy the backup you have on the desktop.

There is no such thing as a computer transfer. Certain data (not on the SD card) has to transferred between the 3DS. It shouldn't take that long.

Please follow the steps in the video or you will be at risk for corrupting your data.

Pretty sure you can just keep your old micro SD if I'm not mistaken.
