Default 3DS Cosmetic Damage Repair

Hello all! My shiny Majora's Mask New 3DS XL was dropped on the pavement the other day... The battle scar is relatively minor and is on a corner of the battery cover.

Is there anyone here with experience with Nintendo repair? All of my Googling comes up with, "They won't fix it because it's not under warranty."

Well that isn't my question. My question is do they physically repair cosmetic damage? When I called Nintendo to set up a repair, he didn't give me a straight answer. So does anyone here know?

Or should I hold out hope for a third party battery cover replacement?

The scratch isn't the end of the world. I would like to fix it if possible though.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

It's just a cosmetic issue?

Get a shade of enamel paint (they come in little jars) that matches the color of the 3DS and paint over the scratch.

That's what I'd do anyway.

Yeah just cosmetic. I'm merely exploring my options. It still plays great and the front is undamaged. So like I said, very minor. I will visit a local model shop and inquire about paint matching.
