Talking Animal Crossing Happy Home designer

It's a spinoff of Newleaf coming out september 25th and october 2nd just in europe. It's all about designing homes for the different animals that move in the town. You can scan amiibo cards to have different animals to have them meet with you and you can tell them to move in and you will start designing.

This is lottie, lyle's niece, and she is your guide to your new career as a home designer for the villagers moving in.

What's always bothered me about Animal Crossing is how you have no control of where the animal villagers put their houses (their houses messing up paths, orchards and flower gardens, etc.) and how messed up/ugly their houses get from all the trading and buying furniture. I know it's not a traditional Animal Crossing, but what I like the most about Happy Home Designer is the ability to place their houses anywhere you like and interior design for them.

I hope these come to Europe, Australia and America. I kinda like that New 3DS XL design.

The most important thing is that you can make Isabelle a house.

Do it for her.

I hear you can give the animals jobs and build things like schools and hospitals.

Aw, man. What if the next Animal Crossing has all the features Happy Home does?

That would be nice.

I really wish this was an expansion pack on New Leaf instead of its own eshop game.
These features mixed with regular Animal Crossing would be amazing.

With the spin-offs like Happy Home Designer and amiibo Festival coming out, can we assume a proper Animal Crossing wont be coming to Wii U and perhaps the NX instead?

Definitely.

Most of the resources in Software Development Group 2 have been devoted to Splatoon, with one of the Animal Crossing: New Leaf directors being busy on Happy Home Designer.
They're physically incapable of getting a mainline Wii U title finished before the next system is out unless the NX release is being pushed off later than expected.

There will be 333 cards total, 100 in the first wave. They will come in packs of 3 and some will have holographic cards.

333 villagers and the cards only come in packs of 3 each? That's so stupid, they will be impossible to collect/hard to get cards of the ones you want in your game. Packs should be at least 10.

Expecting to see the holographic cards all over ebay for $50+

Collecting all these is gonna be pain.

Not to mention 3 cards per pack ugh.

I can imagine seeing a Bob,Rosie or a Marshall Card holographed on ebay for $100.

Do you plan on collecting all the amiibo cards or at least try to?

Not sure for the exact price yet, but the game comes with 1 card.

Also the packs come with 6 instead of 3 cards.

Is it essential to have the amiibo cards if you want to play the game?

I'm pretty sure they said you don't need the cards to play.

I believe it was said the amiibo cards (and I think it was stated the amiibo figures are also compatible with Happy Home Designer) are just used to invite animals over for house parties or whatever and if you want to design a house for a specific animal you want in your town. Oh, and also, I could be wrong about this, but I think to design houses for special animals like Isabelle, Tom Nook and K.K. Slider, etc. you do need to have an amiibo card or amiibo figure of them. Regular animals who want you to design houses for them will hang around outside of Nook's Homes, so you don't necessarily need a bunch of amiibo cards to play the game if you don't wanna bother with them.

I think that's pretty much it. Hope that clears up any confusion.

I noticed on the pack that it says "Series 1" in the top left corner. Interesting. Looks like they are making these in a limited edition fashion.

Honestly, this game is looking super solid to me.

I hope that the new Animal Crossing includes the same features that HHD does.

If we're only going to get the XL's they should at least give us access to all the different editions

Rated PG with mild violence, now I'm curious. I guess they had to substitute beating villagers over the head with bug-catching nets with something new.

The concept looks like it might be fun to try, and the ability to directly choose your characters' customization from the beginning is amazing.

But the whole Amiibo card thing just hurts my opinion of the game too much... It's like paid DLC in another format. I knew that this is where Amiibo would end up. For shame, Nintendo.

Are the cards really needed? I thought it was just useless extras. Unless you really care about a certain specific pair of items. Now the Animal Crossing Amiibos. Those are a *****.

You don't need the cards to play. They're basically for people who want certain animals for their game, but it's kinda ironic because you wont know what cards you'll get if you buy packs of them.

The cards can be used for multiple games, right?

I'll just share them between friends then.

I see, I may try out the game, then.

I just got the impression from something I've read that it was very DLCy. Perhaps it was the way Nintendo has been advertising it themselves.

Oh, I'm buying now.

They'd BETTER include those two instruments in the next non-spin off AC title. Seriously. Ridiculous how long it took for them to add such basic instruments!

Animal Crossing should add a little mini game where you can play music at the club with K.K. Slider and pick your instrument.

That would be cute, would require a ton of programming, though, as there are a ton of instruments!

I'd just like for them to move away from using godawful MIDIs from the last century when you play them.

It's fun for a while. But doesn't have the long lasting appeal of the main AC games.

New Leaf, despite how great it was, did not really last me too far past a month.

I like HHD, actually, because it's much easier to pick up and play. And I can come back to it months later and not worry about my villagers moving away and having to spend 3000 bells to redo my hairstyle (I really wish they'd go back to the WW style where that didn't happen).

It would be great if they could take mostly everything in HHD and combine with the regular animal crossing stuff, and have that be for animal crossing nx.

An Animal Crossing game combined with Happy Home Designer would be perfect.

I like everything about Happy Home Designer more than New Leaf... except for the fact you don't get your own house and there's no actual town, just the commercial district.

Here's the outside of Isabelle's house. It's not fully in the shot, but she has her City Tripper scooter from Mario Kart 8 in her front yard.

For some reason I really don't like Kitt, so this is the type of yard she gets.

Unlike New Leaf, the villagers actually use the items/furniture you place in their homes. It's funny and cute to see them doing stuff like cooking in the kitchen, eating, using the computer or sweeping the floor when you go to visit them. In New Leaf all they do is sit there blank staring or aimlessly wandering around.

I really don't like Paula, so this is how she has to live her life. I'm surprised she actually likes her home... xD

What happens when you make a purposefully awful home for an animal?

Haven't tried it myself yet.

I finished all the town upgrades so I'm taking a break from home designing for now

They wont care how awful it looks. It's kinda dumb, I wish they did have standards.

You can fill their homes up with toilets, freaky dolls, nasty moldy rugs, tarantulas, garbage (literally) and all sorts of junk and they will still act like you're an amazing interior designer and tell you they love their new home as long as you use their favorite items they have in the boxes to start you off with.

I have some of my animals living together. This is Nate and Eunice's home of cardboard and mildew.

Oh, you can make animals live together with the cards?

Nate and Eunice even have a garden made of cardboard.

I keep posting awful homes I've done, so here's something better. I really like how Whitney's house (her theme was a white home) turned out.

Well it's technically more like permanent house guests, but yeah, with the amiibo cards you can make a house look like they're living together. I think 4 is the max amount of animals you can add, so that's 5 total all in the same house including the home owner.
