Sorry for the double post but we got a lot of news about SMM today.
Super condensed version: -You can make your own sound effects for things. -You can use music blocks, which play a different note depending on where you place them, to make your own music. -More than 50 compatible Amiibo. No Mii Fighters though -You don't have all the tools unlocked right out of the disc. You have to unlock all the tools by playing every day. Kinda like Animal Crossing. The game is also now available for pre-load on the eShop. Also the digital version of the game will include the special awesome idea booklet. So yeah, good stuff all around.

This game isn't using the All Stars graphics for what reason? It also lacks making slopes from what I've seen. I'll just watch the cool levels but as of now it just looks mediocre.

Yeah, both slopes and triangle blocks seem to be absent since they don't mesh with the SMB1 mechanics.
Everything seems to be based around how well they work with SMB1 and NSMB, with 3 and World's power ups and special abilities kind of getting shafted. |

I'm having a lot of fun creating my own levels, but at the same time I can't exactly create the levels I envision because I feel like Super Mario Maker is lacking quite a lot.
I want to be able to create levels with slopes, pools of water and more variety of course elements, background objects, enemies and bosses (why weren't the Koopalings added?) and more power ups. I also want desert, snow and poison jungle themes. Being able to add Check Points would be nice as well... Didn't they say they don't wanna do any DLC? I have no idea if they ever plan on releasing DLC or better yet, just an update with more content.

If the game does as well as Mario Kart 8 and Smash it'll totally get some DLC content. |

I wanna find some great levels to do, but all the top Star Ranked ones are trash. Why is this trash getting rated so high? I dunno about anyone else here, but I am so sick of these "don't move, don't press anything, hold right/left and run" auto levels. I'm sure they must have taken a lot of time and effort to make, but I wanna play levels, not just run or stand there doing nothing.
I wish there was a better way of searching for levels, like keywords or categories like automatic, puzzle, music, amiibo, dashing, jumping, etc.

I'm pretty sure the level creator ran out of ground blocks because the start was just a huge mountain mass of bricks, then the rest of the level was just floating pipes and moving platforms scattered in a random mess high up in the sky. Very confusing and annoying level. If you run out of ground blocks, delete some or just use semi-solid platforms and bridges.
