Celes herself isn't typical waifu material, she's very normal as far as depictions of women can go. It is the overall package itself which really draws me to this game, the love story in particular and how you manage your time before the curse activates affecting End?'s relationship with Celes.
I know it is a typical fantasy cliche, risking your life for the one you love, but I am of the belief that just because something is a cliche doesn't mean that it is inherently bad. That said the curse on Celes is also quite a fresh concept as far as combined story and gameplay mechanics can go, I've never seen anything quite like it. The game is also really rather beautiful for something on the Wii. When you look at the modelling in Xenoblade and TLS compared to Pandora's Tower there's a clear difference in quality. Pandora's Tower completely blows Xenoblade out of the water and definitely stands above the stylistically awkward TLS. The towers themselves are expansive and well designed. The bosses are cool, creepy and wonderful to look at too. Overall the visual presentation in the game is just stunning. Playing as End? himself is also a trip. The orichalcum chain is so much fun to play with, it's not something you will typically see in a hack n' slash game. I don't think much of the other weapons in the game, I mostly stick with the chain and sword and it's very stylish! The conclusion of the game also varies wildly depending on how well you've been playing, and you will make or break the couple depending on how fast and how meticulous you have been. A happy ending requires nothing short of perfection, falling short of that you will be subjected to the various ways in which their relationship ends, or becomes twisted and disturbing. Honestly I couldn't gush about the game enough, I'd thoroughly recommend it to everyone who enjoys adventure games and/or love stories.
